A trophy is a cosmetic item that is awarded to
BotBrs whose entries place well in
battles. They are displayed on a user's profile above their bio. There are several different types, which are detailed below.
Trophy Types
Best Overall and Voting Category Trophies
This trophy type can be obtained from Major Battles. There are six different kinds, existing in gold, silver, and bronze variants. The main one is "Best Overall", awarded to three entrants whose entries received (on average) the highest voting scores overall. The other five have names identical to the five voting categories, and are awarded to the three entrants whose entries scored highly in a specific category. Entrants are not restricted to receiving only one trophy; it is entirely possible for an entry to win first place in every single category. Since the voting categories vary by battle, the five voting category trophies (usually) have unique names for each Major Battle. Every voting category (and Best Overall) has its own trophy:

Format Trophies
Format trophies are the second type of trophy that can be obtained from Major Battles. These are awarded to the three entries with the highest average score in a each
format. An entry does not necessarily need to have a high score or place well overall to receive a format trophy; these trophies are rewarded to the top entries in each format. Depending on the popularity of the format and how many people have submitted in the format, some of these trophies may be more difficult to obtain than others. Format trophies have the appearance of their format badge, except they are tinted gold, silver, or bronze (depending on placement). Due to the sheer amount of formats, it would be impractical to list all of them here, but here are some of the most popular:

OHB Trophies
OHB trophies are awarded in
One Hour Battles exclusively. Like Major Battle trophies, these trophies are given based on the average voting score an entry receives; the three entries with the highest average voting score get gold, silver and bronze OHB trophies. Since voting takes place on simplified scale of one to seven in a single category (as opposed to there being five categories in Major Battles), there is only one type of trophy:

Tincans
Tincans are a type of trophy that can be obtained both from OHBs and Major Battles, but primarily from the latter. Unlike the other two types, these are rewarded to entries that landed anywhere from fourth to seventh place—overall, in a voting category, in a format, or any combination of the three. Tincans serve as a sort of an "honorable mentions" system for entries that didn't make the top three but still obtained a modest score in either their format or the voting categories. There is no limit to the amount of tincans that can be awarded for one entry; since there are a larger number of these to go around in each Major Battle, it is not uncommon to see entries with more than one of them. The appearance of tincans does not change based on placement—all tincans have the same look:

How to Obtain
Best Overall and Voting Category Trophies
Get an average voting score on your entry in the top three overall or in a specific category.
Format Trophies
Get an average voting score on your entry in the top three in specific format.
Tincans
In Major Battles, get an average voting score on your entry anywhere from fourth to seventh place overall, in a voting category, in a format, or any combination of the three. In One Hour Battles, score from fourth to seventh place overall (the number of entrants will determine how many are distributed, if any).
OHB Trophies
In an OHB, get an average voting score in the top three overall.
