SnevenTracker (SN76489 Tracker) is a mod of FamiTracker version 0.4.6 that emulates the Texas Instruments SN76489 sound chip, which is used in a wide variety of computers and gaming consoles. The project's ultimate aim is to support multiple sound chips in a more modular manner than 0.4.6, and then forward-port these changes to
0CC-FamiTracker.
How to Log .VGM Files
A common trouble spot with musicians using SnevenTracker is the finicky way it exports - or rather, logs - .VGM files. It often leads to empty entries, a type of illegal entry where the file is 0 bytes. The following is how to log a .VGM properly in SnevenTracker.
1. Click Tracker > Log .VGM File
2. Select where to place the .VGM. It will appear initially with 0 bytes.
3. HIt play on the tracker file and let the entirety of the song play. If you don't have a Cxx command at the end of your song, stop the piece manually.
3. Profit! The .VGM will update with the song data stored onto it.
