Well of course ready yer skills to battle botbers on our timely based Compos and talk with us at our chat.

But first! This article will "Let's cling together" into getting familiar with some of the most basic used terms used on botb XD

TEH rounddown

1. Finding people
By visiting and joining the chats, getting to know people, and participate on "in the heat of the moment" one hour long competitions with people you know are (or not!) in your timezone.


2. Battles, compos and ohcs
Currently, the site is set up for two basic types of battles, musical and visual types. Which usually translate to tools like fl studio, milkytracker, famitracker, impulse tracker, and the likes.


3. Rules for battles =o
Usually coming in the form of Sample Packs provided with sounds, themes, and now palettes! And every other form of limitation that we think will help BotBrs develop their skills. These are usually provided in .ZIP form during ohcs, where most compos take place on irc.


4. Submitting work!
Three rules here
a. anonymous entries (ohcs only)
b. no covers
c. Save often, and save plenty hahaha, trackers tend to crash during ohcs ;D
c. This is the actual third rule :D

6. BOTB currency and usage.
The official legal tender on BotB is the boon. Boons are subdivided into one hundred nubs. Here are the current exchange rates for the boon

1 boon=489.37 USD
1 boon=658.89 EUR
1 boon=485.58 CAD
1 boon=773.21 GBP

except these values are all MADE UP (but in proportion). And you cannot actually exchange boons for real money (if we could, I think everyone here would be millionaires).

Boons are used for many transactions in BotBland. It costs 250 boons to start an ohc (this sounds like a lot but you can ask any friendly person and they might just give you 250 boons). But after the compo, if more than 3 people enter, you get them all back.

It costs two nubs to liēk and hæїt other BotBr's posts. But this shouldn't be a problem either.

Also if you are a CUTE LEVEL 7 or higher you can make a new article here on the lyceum for 33 boons.

You can earn boons in more ways than you can spend them (which is why they inflate so much). You earn boons by participating in OHC's and major compos and you get even more for winning them or placing high :). You also get boons when people listen to your songs or look at your pictures and download them.
