Advent Calendar (Battle series)
It's based on the concept of Advent Calendars, where you open a little present every day in december until christmas.
For the first two years, every day from Dec 1 to Dec 24, an OHB was hosted with a different format and bitpack. Since 2020, it's all done as one big Major Battle with changing format every day. This change was decided by vote in late September 2020.

Since 2020, the series is hosted as a Major Battle.
Every day at midnight (BotB Server Time (PST)), the format token and bitpack gets updated. BotBrs have exactly 24 hours to finish their entry for the day. A regular human being needs sleep though, which means noone should actually spend all 24 hours by working on their entry. The average time put into an entry should be 1 to 4 hours. The usual XHB-rules apply: Your entry should be done within the day, please don't submit tracks you finished earlier, follow the rules or use the provided samples, depending on the bitpack-type.
Format Suggestions Period
In the first week of September, usually on a weekend, the Format Suggestions Period starts. This period is a simple forum thread where everyone can suggest a random amount of formats they would like to see in that years Advent Calendar. Suggesting a format during this period does not mean the format will definitely get into the battle. It is mainly to get a general image of people's preferences and to build a schedule containing a nice mix of both the wanted and the unwanted/surprising formats.
Bit Period

Voting Period
You can vote on entries for a day as soon as it's over. This way, people don't need to wait for all days to be done before they can start voting. Voting usually stays open for another two weeks after Dec 24. The battle finishes with a result stream.

Results Calculation
Since this battle series wasn't a major battle at first, the results were calculated with the following formula: [Average Score] - [Number of days without participation]
Example: If your average score is 35.000 because you only submitted to one XHB and got a perfect all7 vote, your final score will be 35-23 (12), because you missed 23 XHBs. If your average score is 22.465 and you missed only one XHB, your final score will be 21.465. The BotBr with the highest final score wins.
In 2019, there was a reward of 560 boons for the winner of the event.
Since the winner was kleeder, the boon payout went to the BotBr in second place: argarak.
Votings
In 2019, there was also a special boon reward for everyone who voted on every or almost every XHB.
The formula was: 100 - [number of missed XHBs times 10]
Example: If you missed 1 XHB, you get 90 boons. If you missed 10 XHBs, you get 0 boons.

The BotB Advent Calendar is an annual battle series, first hosted by kleeder, later (starting 2023) also hosted by damifortune. First two battles were hosted as OHBs but this was changed to a Major Battle in 2020.It's based on the concept of Advent Calendars, where you open a little present every day in december until christmas.

Major Battle
Since 2020, the series is hosted as a Major Battle.
