Simple Music Tracker is an online tracker developed in Scratch by
squig3. It was released on the
Scratch website on June 27, 2017 and is based on the 2A03, the NES's CPU and sound chip.
Usage
Songs are limited to a single page of 256 short notes (numbered from 00-FF), which are limited to C3-C4, and can be set to 0 - 50 hundredths of a second per note (0 - 0.5 seconds), or 1500/𝑥 BPM (e.g. 1500/12 = 125). However, songs cannot play that fast.
The PCM channel was replaced with a third pulse channel, as while Scratch can generate
PCM, it is difficult due to a reliance on predefined samples.
Exporting
The program cannot export to an audio file directly. Instead, the device's audio has to be recorded in software, such as
Audacity, or alternatively via a physical audio recorder.
