jazz is rarely a solitary effort! throughout much of the history of jazz, a strong highlight is the art of the SOLO, taking a short tune and stretching it out into an expression of extemporaneous freedom and joy. this month, what i would love to see are entries with collaborators! this thread is for botbrs in need of solos to make themselves known and for those who have a yearning to contribute solos to raise their hand and let the world know they've got something to say.
for composists: give a lil description of your tune so soloists know what to expect and what they want to opt into! for instance, i'm writing a tune with a fairly fast swing tempo, lots of lil time sig changes, and fast chord changes that wander fluidly between keys. it's got a little bit of a hard bop flavor and a little fusion to it as well. i'm not opposed to adding a modal vamp to solo over as well.
for soloists: let us know what kind of solo you wanna provide! it can be sequenced MIDI, it can be your instrument of choice like sax or piano or your favorite hardware synth, it can be your voice or otamatone or your very own bleepler or the snes or DMG sitting in your room or banging on pots and pans recorded by cell phone mic! have fun!
