1. Allowing a user to edit a palette with no ability to save or apply it is misleading. (Caused me to lose a palette after working on it.)

2. After clicking on the button to create a new palette, the save disk icon does not appear. You have to reload or come back to the page and select the "new palette" you just created. (This caused me to lose my palette a second time after rebuilding it, because there was apparently no way to save it.)

3. Random things change to the current selected color while editing, e.g. clicking the "bottom" colour box many times will turn text or links or button to that colour sort of at random. (This is kinda weird. I sorta like the chaotic nature of this.)

4. The colour of the field behind the main area of the view appears to be relatd to the "box" colour, but it does not update when you change the box colour.

-------------

Anyhow I guess I'd suggest:

1. Clicking on the option to buy a new palette should automatically select that palette.

2. Disallow editing of palettes that can't be saved.

Obviously this is kind of an obscure feature and easy to get the hang of, so I don't expect any kind of priority on it. Just sharing my user experience.

bump, since I think we do need this part of rain's suggestion at least:

> 1. Clicking on the option to buy a new palette should automatically select that palette.

fairly often I see evidence of a botbr buying a new palette, then thinking they are editing it but instead destroying their old palette, and leaving a blank "New Palette" in the new slot they bought.

perhaps buying a new palette should clone the botbr's currently selected one? (or would that be confusing?)

I want to update to jQuery 1.9 before I take another pass at the palette editor. Actually, upgrading to 1.9 requires going over all jQuery related javascript in place as this version deprecated a lot of features. I think the palette editor has as much js as the rest of the site combined. :X

There is now a message in the ui window thing when you go to the palette editor that leads you to this thread.

i'm noticing that you get random/weird results depending on whether you click on the text of what you want to adjust(bottom, box, button, etc) or the webcodecolornumber things below the text of what you want to adjust(#999999,#cfcfcf, whatever your colors are).

it seems a reliable "workaround" at this point is to make sure you're clicking on the text and not the numbers when adjusting colors. otherwise, things get all random and weird.

edit: ah, okay. it's the difference between clicking on the box and the text field within the box. so just make sure you're staying away from clicking the text field and things will stay reliable.

I've worked with the old Aseprite, which frankly glitches out on me quite a bit. I've worked my way around these niches so they don't really bother me anymore.

years ago i lost a palette i loved to the caprice of the palette editor, and i was never able to recreate it. times change and wounds heal, but i'll never forget you. anyone who has lost a palette near and dear to them has my sympathy.

Hypnosis, 2011-2012. rest in peace.

SaveState has provided us with a new frontend TOTAL REBUILD of the palette editor. He did a wonderful job, but if you have any problems going forward then it's his fault! :D/

I'm currently a Level 0 n00b (new account and all) and I transferred some boons from my old account so I could set a palette, and it worked.

But... don't I have to be Level 1 to set a palette or something?
