I love Halloween music!!! Share some spooky songs that really get you in the Halloween mood (or maybe even some that you've made)!

Here's some of my favorites:
SNAKE POOL - HAUNTED HOUSE

Zero Percent APR - The End is Coming

clipping. - Nothing is Safe

(I can't recommend the two Clipping horror albums enough)

an old favorite that comes to mind - "Creepy Tales for Freaky Children" by Mechanical Poet

I followed these guys after their first album of woodland-fantasy-themed prog metal 20-something years ago, and this followup record was a wild departure for them, much poppier. but I ended up really loving it, and it's still a really memorable, fun, catchy, and delightfully spooky record full of charming whimsical storytelling. somewhere out there are a few versions of some of the songs in Russian, though this is all in English.

My fondest Halloween memory is of taking turns with my brother and his high school friends standing perfectly still on my parents' front porch, freaking out older trick-or-treaters (who expected us to jump out and do something scary) and delighting younger ones (who seemed to feel clever for noticing we were people instead of statues), while blasting the music of Sunn O)))
in the background.

I don't really have anything that's explicitly Halloween, but around this time of year I usually listen to a lot of Kate Bush!

To name a few of her darker/spookier songs...

- Wuthering Heights
(based on the Emily Bronte novel; ghost returns to the window of her past lover)
- Coffee Homeground
(various attempts to poison the narrator)
- Hammer Horror

- The Wedding List
(a bride takes vengeance on a man who killed the groom)
- Get Out Of My House
(about a ghost concierge that's making donkey noises)
- Mother Stands For Comfort
(maternal love for a murderous child)
- Waking The Witch
(one of the weirder songs in this list, has some cool demonic voices)
- The Fog

Khlyst - Chaos is My Name

One of my favorite scary music things. There's basically three distinct forms for the music (inhuman screaming + abstract ugly guitar and sometimes drums, drone and cymbals with ghostly voices, and unnerving but really beautiful electronic loops) that fade in and out of each other. I feel like its at its best during the drone and loop sections, but the vocals are extremely impressive throughout and the guitar tone is pretty wild. it all slowly morphs together and I always find the experience to be unsettling in a positive way. I have to listen once a year or so!

Naturally my version of spooky music is gothabilly lol, so anything by The Cramps. There's also this one-man band, Dead Elvis and His One-Man Grave.

thought of another good'n - Murder Ballads by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds
is an amazing and dark and creepy album, IF you are okay with something that is capable of being incredibly vulgar and descriptive lol. giant parental advisory sign

Real Gone
by Tom Waits really has a good dark/creepy mood all along, this is probably my fav Tom Waits album!

I second damifortune for Murder Ballads! For more scary stuff made by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, I think Let Love In
is a solid option too!

I've never seen anything more epic than this
Haunted Dance - Mr.Asyu

I highly recommend it

I also recommend these
The Grim Reaper Blows the Horn - Firage

The Full Moon Boys - Firage

and
Vampire Byte - Firage

The first two are fun and meme-filled. This guy is so good, he's a openmpt master to me but i don't understand why do less people know this guy.

and last one, i recomended this
Sonic Robo Blast 2 - Haunted Heights - DrTapeworm

It sounds very thematic, it's very nice

So many great recommendations! Didn't manage to get through all of them yet, but it's really cool to see how varied Halloween music can be! Here's a few more spooky songs/albums that I enjoy:

- Aesop Rock & TOBACCO - Acid King
(an eerily detailed retelling of a real murder that happened during the 1980s satanic panic, with some haunting synth production by Tobacco)
- The Garden - Horseshit on Route 66
(some pretty gnarly punk with a bit of a halloween vibe)
- The Night Monitor - Dance of the Mince Pie Martians
(spooky ambient synth music, perfect for hunting UFOs)
- The Shaggs - It's Halloween

(a halloween classic, but one can't help but feel bad for the girls for being forced to record it)

Happy Halloween!!!
