The channelf format is music generated by the microprocessor chip for the
Channel F (console)
Tools
-
Sleizsa
-
Sleizsa Duo
-
Sleizsa Trio
Restrictions on submit
The restriction for this format is that the sound is generated by the Channel F chip, either on hardware or by emulator. In case
Sleizsa is used, provide 'ntsc'(default) or 'pal' in the name. This is necessary to know for playback during voting.
Accepted file format
.bin
Playback (for voting)
You have to process each entry one by one by the emulator. It is the easiest to just use either tool:
Sleizsa: renaming and replacing 'song.bin' and use '!run.bat' or '!run-pal.bat'
Sleizsa Duo: rename and replace 'test.bin' and type/run 'mess channelf -rompath roms/ -cart test.bin' form the command prompt, from the SleiszaDuo folder.
Sleizsa Trio: same as with Duo
Using only the emulator and Channel F boot rom files is possible too, but you have to know where to place the files in order for the emulator to find them.
Render to MP3
By default both tools have a .wav file rendered in the 'mess' directory .
Sleizsa: 'filename.wav' in the 'mess' folder
Sleizsa Duo: 'song.wav' in the 'SleizsaDuo' folder
Sleizsa Trio: 'song.wav' in the 'SleizsaTrio' folder
Convert this file to MP3 with your favourite tool (suggestion: Audacity)
