Honestly, I think we need to open with the longer voting period, not have it extended later. The very short 2 week voting time discouraged many from voting at all, and reopening it at the last minute with only 1 week does nothing to encourage the people who thought 2 weeks was too short and did not start voting.

I myself am glad that I didn't have to marathon vote the wild chip category I still had left, but I would have much preferred to know the real time available so I could plan ahead. Voting on 375 entries is a rather large time commitment.

for reference, famicompo mini usually had two weeks for voting

FCM2 used a score scale from 10 to 100 incrementing by 10, and 43 entries were voted on for a full month

FCM5 had 4 explicitly named vote categories, and the voting period that year had to be a full september. there were 102 entries

the last time was FCM10 having about 78% as many entries as WC9 and we had another full month voting each entry between 0 and 5. now there are 6 ^ 293 and 7 ^ (5 × 375) possible vote combinations in FCM10 and WC9 respectively, but the order of magnitude in the latter is nearly 7 times as much as that in the former, so we nay need to continue voting carefully on all entries until AUTUMN JAMS BEGINS_{(which of course is non-existent meaning we don't actually end the WC9 voting period at all)}

I finished my voting before the original deadline with one exception: MIDIs (I cite my experience with the VGMusic forums as a reason why I stay away from that format, even with the renders. However, I don't mind listening to the renders just for fun, though.). However, there wasn't much time left.

I'm actually not sure how many tin cans I'll win. I know it'll be real tough to get a medal.
