...Or "BotB PWNS YOR SOL???"

Yeah, so... I was noticing the creative commons licenses for entries submitted here, and noticed the part that says BotB holds a ND license as long as the file is available here for free.

Does that mean I can't create derivatives of/remix my own tunes after I upload them here? If this is true, I really don't like that. I mean, I can live with that, but it makes me really sad and would encourage me to only submit tracks that I am not emotionally attached to.

'splain, Lucy?

  Slimeball liēkd this
A license that you put on your creative work describes what other people can do with it, not what you can do with it--for example, "all rights reserved" doesn't mean that you're not allowed to distribute or sell your own work.

Okay. Thank you. I was hoping this was the case. It's just the way it is worded in the submission entry page would make a paranoid person feel paranoid. The fact that it starts with "BotB [insert possessive]" makes it look suspicious.

BotB is setup like that so that we can redistribute BotBr's works and accept donations. Someday we'll get more major battle compilations on the bandcamp page. The licenses were new as of a few(?) years ago.
