in the day and age of quickly produced generated one page websites where each looks more corporate than the other, I was wondering if we can have a cool collection of websites with unique gimmicks, fun little things to play around with etc in this thread.

is there a website that u remember because it was fun or exciting to click from page to page? maybe something made u laugh? hidden subpages, little games, custom cursors or silly animations? anything goes.
there's so much u can do with Webdesign and the concept of websites, which is easy to forget when we just hang out on our 5 all-the-same looking social media sites and apps.


sidenote I always liked the idea of adding a little hidden entrance to a maze on my own portfolio website, which leads to ... ?????? or maybe it already exists???? will we ever know???? I wish more websites in general wld have more easter eggs and just funny little extras again

the gimmick and/or unnecessary cool feature is that the entire game's graphics are rendered using entirely HTML and 3D CSS, without involving the <canvas>

element, which is really cool if you're a nerd and probably doesn't mean anything if you're not. but also it's a visual novel that quickly becomes not a visual novel. it's just fascinating and one could talk about it for six years

im kinda blanking but i think it's neat when those autistic person sites add a little cursor trail or whatever other awesome bullshit on the screen. the opposite end of the spectrum (more techbroey) sometimes the designer decides to make their own laggy lerped mouse cursor and hide the system's and those pages can burn in hell
