Super Famicompo #7 - Results now available!

Hey folks! Everyone's favorite SNES music competition, Super Famicompo, is back for its 7th year and I'd love to see your participation, if you're interested!

I’m as excited as ever, hopefully I don’t enswamp myself with too many ideas like I have in the past, haha. Hope to see some new and old faces turn up!

small heads up: the bold portion of the submission guideline text says " In addition, for the challenge category, please also include a list of the samples you used from the pack." but this year the challenge category isn't a sample pack

In this case, the sample pack is optional, hence the reason the fine print was redundant.

Hold up super famicompo 7 is here? Then what happened to SF 6? I'm asking as I need it for my archives for SMW Central. I've been a huge fan of the compos and although I can't take part yet, some day I hope to have my name in the covers section of the compo!

I was confused why "don't add slurs" was in the rules, but then I remembered the SNES is a sampler lol.

Thank goodness the chiptune community is good enough on average that the possibility of putting slurs in a SNES song didn't occur to me

When someone says "don't add slurs" in the context of SNES music I assume they're talking about the "legato" command that disables re-keying the note, leading to the notes slurring together. I had to read that comment 3 times before I understood what was being said haha
