a lot of the nsf majors are really good, still have to go through all of them. I was thinking recently it was about time for another nsf major but then I realized trance163 happened and the only reason I didn't do it was it was a genre and not a theme

spooky vrc6 and vrc7 lost in space were both rad, for sure. the former was my first song ever made in a tracker! fond memories of that battle

also, super islands. adding super islands to the list cause that one spawned a whole album from me in the end

i always look forward over what the current majors provide among other things, i'm kind of the person who prefers to be there in the moment instead of reminiscing the long past.

however if you made me choose a past major i recall very fondly myself, it would be the previous (at the moment of this writting) spring tracks (Spring Tracks XII).
it was the first major i participated and even though i didn't exactly do super well i still was proud to share my musical creations in this community along with being able to see some familiar faces (AM4N, Damifortune, Kot. A64, Telebasher, ko0x, Tobikomi, etc) in here.
some songs of that major were absolute bangers too: magpie, blue ridge, Soaring Through Starry Skies, Forgiveness, GENERAL SERUM, Better Days Ahead, A new pair of sneakers, Melting into Wildflowers, April, Bem-Te-Vi Speedway, floating point and so on are some of my favorite songs featured on this website and community. Y'all are awesome :3

I think winter chip viii has the most epic amount of great entries. it rly is so crazy good.

and the one that means the most to me personally is probably either wc14 or ST8

I remember my first WC (XVII) really fondly, and still love those entries. But TinyMod Grand Prix finally dethroned it for me. I also enjoy listening to lots of the Spoopy ones.

Very Rare Format I and II were super fun for me - it was especially rad to see another tic80 demo in VRF 1 (also it was absolutely spectacular!)

I'm also quite fond of Atari Trilogy :D

Wow, a track of mine mentioned...

The boring answer is that it depends on personal experience. But if I were to evaluate as objectively as I could, the Future Battles majors would be the most important ones. For without them, most monthly majors from the past 5 years wouldn't exist.

Summer Chip III solely for Extends Levant

Other than that, literally any of the Metal majors from yesteryear. Super bummed that I made the mistake of being a small child during those, should've known better!
