Summer chip is still a ways away but I just wanted to start a discussion for HTML5 in summer chip!!!
As of now, HTML5 has been exclusively featured in game jam majors and I think that this has caused HTML5 to not achieve it's potential as the ULTIMATE MIXED MEDIA FORMAT!!!!!!!
Examples of things that can be done with html5 that aren't games:
Animations
Interactive music toys/experiments
Procedural art/music
Tools/utilities
3D art?!?!?!?
Having HTML5 in a generalist major would allow people to generate some really awesome mixed-media stuff, and the lower stakes nature of summer chip might help make HTML5 more acessible as people don't feel like they have to compete with full on game demos. Feel free to discuss in the comments

i don't know how to code in HTML5 yet but it seems pretty interesting just to see what do people can do with it. great idea, i support it

been here done that,
with imagination you can do a lot with css and boxes, even pixel art

big ups for that!!! and for hosting more webdevist battols too, ik html has more entries than html5 but most of them are from <2023, while html5 has a bunch of 2025 emtries from advent calendar and puzzle battles
the html lyceum page says you could emtry with multiple pages, so a soloRPG web-book or something like this would be nice to make

i havent done html5 due to time constraints in the past, so it would be fun to see it in a seasonal (not advent calendar because that counts as a seasonal apparently) major

another format i would like to suggest is teletext because i find it pretty neat
