I was just telling a friend how interesting it is to see how the styles have grown/evolved over the past compos. Listening to A2EMIC2, YAEMIC2, and Detroit I. It's amazing. And on the Yahoo tip. I think perhaps they're taking over the world, Yahoo is just a little quieter than Google about it's plans.

I didn't have a clue either, I just gave a four to everyone to keep it on equal terms since I couldn't vote on the others without that one.

All the categories really do is perpetuate the age-old debate regarding what is good and what is bad and why. Isn't it all really just subjective? Art doesn't require popular vindication, it simply needs to make you feel something one way or the other and its done its job. Yeah man...totally...

Ah, yes. Joseph Campbell's interpretation of some olde Irish novelist lead to: "Art is to be static - that is it leads to asthetic arrest." Where the perciever of the art is held humbly taking in the art. "Creative work that incites action is pornography." But I think I would call it propoganda -- it's less silly.

But for real-- If I couldn't click on anybody's track and see a collection of colorful avatars commenting below, or if I posted questions and got no feedback I think I would have lost the will to build this thing a while ago.
I wouldn't be getting decent at code. I wouldn't be dragging aclone out until 4am flyering. I'd even maybe consider making the site more accessible for suckers and not so cryptic.... but I doubt it - prolly would have just gave up.
