As you've already seen, I've been very inactive both here and at Discord. Don't worry, there's nothing wrong, only a master's degree that's badly sucking my time.

I don't have anything special I need to pray for, but I thank you for your concern, Charlotte, and hope that everyone else's prayers bring happiness and success.

Surely there's something more useful than prayer guys. I understand it can be somewhat beneficial to some extent to the person performing it but it has never cured anyone, well no more than placebos have. If you're serious about bringing something good to the world, make sure the means you've chosen have an actual effect.

Thoughts, feelings, and otherwise energy, can move stars: I both, much appreciate, and acknowledge the gift you give at fellow Battle of the Bits' community members, by channeling energy you deem positive for, with them in mind.

Sorry I was mainly reacting to the last comment and didn't mean to offend. It reminded me that sometimes people die because they get prayer instead of medical care. If I thought prayer did nothing I wouldn't have even responded.

@yqn confused on your points but I feel like pointing out it's kinda amazing how prayer can objectively generate change on some level from nothing but will and intent. if you know someone is praying for you, it would surely influence your psychological/emotional state + course of actions vs not having that knowledge of good will and support from someone out there. furthermore, this can be quite an intricate and complex set of interactions when you consider the influence of PRAYER DYNAMICS firing around within a group of people. I dunno it's a positive thing, and factually so.

and yea prayer cannot heal disease and sickness and it's an unfortunate overextension of good will and faith. tho it seems to me medical science also is in constant flux and can and does fail people as well. putting your faith in scientific evidence is surely a better bet in those cases but I'd argue it is still only faith

basically what Jesus Christ is saying to his Disciples in this passage is that everyone who has posted in this thread, especially the posts that are just virtue signalling name drops, is going to burn, painfully tormented and damned, in Hell Forever, with the child killers, war criminals, and tax collectors, banished from God The Father for all eternity. This is the Word of the Lord Your God, Amen.

uh ok i want to stop whatever e battle you're trying to start here and assure you that keffie made this thread in good faith and whatever "clout chasing" that may be going on here is irrelevant and immaterial. if anyone really just wants e clout, the "hell" they will be putting themselves will be entirely their own suffering, unbeknownst to other botbrs.

and i have enough trust in the kind of people that posted here that they genuinely just wanted a place to pray for their friends in solidarity, irrespective of their own religious beliefs, and especially irrespective of christianity (also this is coming from someone who hasn't even made an inkling of acknowledgement to any post on this thread until now, also I won't be making subsequent posts about this on this thread).

just here to say im not religious in any normal or logical sense, but im praying for all of you. and if you happen to read this comment while scrolling to post some edgelord stuff on a thread like this: don't. have just a morsel of kindness in your heart, treat people like human beings instead of whatever mangled metaphor you see them as.

I think this is a very kind hearted thread. Every good action starts with good thoughts before you act, so I think if nothing else a post like this that encourages us to think about each other deeply can lead to wonderful things because if we consider others it puts our minds and hearts in a better state that is receptive to the good around us and the good we can do for others rather than being too focused on the things in this world that discourage us.

For those that think perhaps prayer does nothing, consider the good actions that kind thoughts toward others might lead to, and even if there isn't much we can do sometimes just knowing someone else is thinking about you when you're having a hard time can have a profound effect on your mood. It might not take the trial away, but knowing others are rooting for you can give you the strength to endure.

For those that think mentioning to others that they want to pray for people among friends such as we have here is somehow a big public venue and is clout chasing please consider that from what I have seen most of what is posted here doesn't really spill out into the larger social media landscape and seems for the most part a closed off and tight knit smaller community.

If one wanted to show off how kind they appear to be for some dishonest gain they most likely wouldn't do it here because the reach is rather small compared to so many other places a thread like this could have been posted.

The only motivating factors I see here are kindness and love, and I think it's wonderful. The world could always use more of that. :)

I dont get on here too often, all the music i write ive already planned out in advance, and i sorta felt like posting it to whatever battle was currently going on was going against the spirit of the whole thing you guys have created here. I do still look around from time to time and i saw this and i do have something ive been praying about: i havent had anyone to play music with for a very long time. I made a change in my life 6 years ago and sorta lost everyone. My band kicked me out, i suddenly couldnt get ahold of anyone in my other band, and most people followed suit. A few years later i moved away from even the few that stuck with me. I get along with people at work now well enough, but i only ever see them there. Im recently sober so finding fellow musicians at a show (a bar) is not possible for me. I love the freedom of writing my music alone but i miss so much just sitting with someone in the same room and playing a song with them, and i guess the underlying theme here is that i really dont have any friends and if i was to ask for a prayer from other musicians it would be that i meet someone irl that wants to play music too. I know it sounds pathetic but im human and im not too proud to admit it. Thank you for making this thread 💙
