After much anticipation and delay, Famicompo is finally back!

Famicompo is a Famicom/NES music competition that has gone through various incarnations, with many historic entries and participants. You, too, can become a part of NES music history!

Due to the sudden unexpected timing, Famicompo Pico 3 will last for two months! FCP 3 starts on the 15th of June and ends on the 31st of July before midnight.

The four categories are original, cover, freestyle original and freestyle cover.

Original and cover entries must be submitted in NSF format. All expansions are permitted.

Freestyle entries must be submitted in MP3. The 2A03 must be noticable in the song. Simulation and signal processing are allowed.

Winning entrants in the originals category under 64KB (2A03-only) will be put on a special FCP3 cartridge playable on any NES, or a Famicom with an adapter. One cart will be awarded to the winner of each category! More details will be available by August 1st!

Why wasn't there a Famicompo Pico last year?

Because hype (and related bureaucratic shenanigans) precedes just making a yearly compo apparently :x

Shit would've been a 13 year streak otherwise (FAMICOMPO, 10 years of Famicompo Mini, 3 years of Famicompo Pico, all consecutive), which makes me wonder...did K-> actually give a damn about hyping up FCM during its 10 year run?

Finally! I've been waiting since last year for the next Famicompo Pico! But we have a problem...

The website for the other two Famicompo Pico compos is down.

And I'm actually curious about the cartridge from Famicompo Pico 2015.

As the Japanese liaison of previous Famicompo Picos, charlotte will have to answer to anything related to Famicompo Picos 2014 and 2015.

In other news, I informed the Japanese community about the recent development.

"We have found another host, so plans for the next Famicompo Pico will continue on.

This year, it will be called "Famicompo Pico 3." Details later."

The way I remember it, mukunda shared a beta version of S3M2NSF with #mod_shrine, and half of us entered Famicompo Mini Classical to test it. The influx of foreigners surprised them.

Chibitech, Rushjet1, and I assume one of the Anamanaguchis (I forget which one programmed the NES, it's been too long) entered previously using MMCK or NerdTracker, but I didn't know anything about it until we all entered Classical.

That is to say, I didn't care about making chipmusic myself prior to that event.

dpc is a f00l and didn't even announce entries are now open so I'm gonna do it myself
