Mariopants is an easy to use Mario Paint clone. It is made by '[l[http://battleofthebits.com/barracks/Profile/rainwarrior/[rainwarrior] and is availalable for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (ported by '[l[http://battleofthebits.com/barracks/Profile/Jangler/[Jangler]). It was created because it was very inconvenient to save Mario Paint savestates or use BotB's previous tool '[[ShroomTool]. Then this program was created and now anyone can make wonderful Mario Paint music! '[#[Features] Mariopants can save and import the '[[ShroomTool] format, .sho, as well as being able to save and load from ZSNES and SNES9x savestates. It also has a built-in WAV renderer (just save with a .wav extension). It now even includes the bouncing Mario! Unlike the canonical Mario Paint song editor, Mariopants allows the user to place multiple notes at the same pitch and time. Playback of this feature is fully supported by Mario Paint, so it's fair game as far as most BotBrs are concerned. The latest version of Mariopants also allows creating 'extended' songs that are longer than the canonical format supports. Opinions differ on whether this feature should be allowed in BotB compos.
