YEA VIDEOGAME (jp: はいビデオゲーム) is an ongoing weekly
XHB series hosted by damifortune. First hosted on October 9th, 2020,
YEA VIDEOGAME is the longest running active XHB series on the site, as well as the longest running regularly scheduled XHB series as well. It is also considered, alongside with the
BotB Advent Calendar, one of the most influential XHB series's, being one of the only ones to be spun off into a
major battle.
The premise proposed is simple. Each installment, a new bitpack is uploaded: this bitpack contains samples from a Super Nintendo Entertainment System game, alongside the
YEA VIDEOGAME manifesto. The participant is given an hour to compose the best piece they can with this selection of samples before submitting. It is similar in concept to Sample Pack Contest, a seperate competition.

Native Mode
Native Mode refers to a spinoff series of
spc-only
YEAs hosted from time to time, mostly prior to the introduction of simultaneous spc XHBs with
YEA #157. These are referred to as such due to them returning the samples used to their original hardware, and were hosted with that intent. Most, if not all of the Native Mode battles, were also reruns of previous
YEAs, making this the most prevalent rerun spin-off series for
YEA.
