FamiStudio is the piano roll counterpart to the classic NES chiptune tracker
FamiTracker. Rather than using a tracker interface, notes are drawn in on a piano grid that scrolls to the right over time. FamiStudio is both multiplatform on PC and usable on an Android device!
Although this format is intended for submitting FamiStudio project files specifically, it's worth noting that the software can also export to NSF for the three NSF formats (
nsf_classic,
nsf, and
nsfplus).

FamiStudio is what you need! The website also has extensive documentation on setup & how to use the software.
Restrictions on submit
Submission should be a working .fms FamiStudio project file.
Playback (for voting)
The latest version of FamiStudio should be used for voting. Open the .fms file and hit the play button ▶️ up top to play back the entry.
