not to derail, but it seems more and more that what a portion of our community requires is another place to go with the botb platform.

i prefer to have compos and ohc's on botb more than other compo platforms(like s3m.it and various esper rooms). why? cos botb gives me points, medals and trophies(and i can also be a frog here!)

the fundamental platform that botb sits on, no other place really operates quite like it. it's just a lot of fun and, to me, i feel more connected and engaged to the compos and its participants within this kind of environment.

i bring this up mainly cos there are a few threads going up lately(one of them is mine) with suggestions and discussions about majors that would sort of be pushing the boundaries of what botb usually does. and i'm thinking the overall admin silence on these threads says something...

anyway, idk i felt it necessary to express that here. perhaps some of us could work together on getting a sort of sister site in order to take some of the progressive pressures off of puke and our admins.

and btw i think the aforementioned visual arts majors is a lovely idea~ the more artistic side of botb has certainly been rousing about lately.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't require any extra code to make a pixel major :v

On top of that, the idea of creating a sister site solely to allow for visual compos is a hell of an ordeal for something better suited to being a feature of this actual website, and it would spell trouble for one or the other down the line. Wouldn't you rather keep everything nice and congealed?

i already spoke with the powers that be and a sister site will have no blessing, for many good reasons.

It's not so much a coding issue as it is an issue of taste and preferences. :P

Also I'd imagine a sister site would be about more than just hentai visual art majors. It could also cover literature, minecraft maps, super mario war maps and programming!

But yeah, I hope this doesn't end up turning into a schism of any sorts. But it probably won't get that far now the idea of a sister site is off the hook?

the risk of dividing the community is one of the bigger reasons, yea.

That and the fact that botb would be fucking dope if it had more support for such things.
