Hi! I just wanted to poke my head out for a bit and see if anyone would like to work together for this year's (very soon) GBJam
?

More info is on the itch.io site linked above but it's basically a 10 day competition where you make a game that fits the aspect ratio, colour palette and "feel" of a Gameboy game while also meeting a secondary theme.

I can program (I'd preferably stick to Godot) and draw pretty well, so I mostly wanted to see if anyone would like to work on some Music or SFX for the game. But I'm happy to focus more on programming if there's anyone that would like to help out with the art instead :)

I am just realising that right after this Jam I'm gonna have to mash together another game in 10 days for the BotB Game Jam but it'll be fine :)

Not sure how much attention I would be able to commit to the jam, with other timed projects on, but I'd probably be able to at least make a track on top of maxis offer if desired:))

i actually wanted to submit there something could run on a real gameboy - i tried some experiments on boriel's zxbasic compiler, but struggled to exclude exclusive z80 opcodes that 8080 (which is closer to gameboy cpu) doesnt have - submitting instead a sega gamegear entry (way easier to code for me) that could look like gameboy wasnt exactly the thing i wanted to do

there's always GB Studio, which I think might be easier to scope for the timeframe of the jam

Woah didn't expect so many responses :O
I'm busy tonight but I'll dm people tomorrow after I come up with a few ideas and get a rough start going.

Also gotta agree with Fennel on using GBStudio if you'd like to have something that could run natively on the Game Boy, nitrofurano. Although if you're looking for a more complete list of resources (and a jam that seems to run every 2 years), you can check out the Game Boy Competition's
Resources section for more info.
