on the front page theres a section that says "CURRENT BATTLES". choose one of the battles in that section and click it. then click the button that says "submit". hope this helps

I know everyone has their methods of composition, but when submitting to quick 1-hour competitions do most people already have tunes composed, and then write it out for the format that's listed? 1 hour just seems so short, and I'm personally very slow when it comes to composition.

Everything is supposed to be done within the one hour time constraint. The bitpack (samples and/or rules) are supplied to try to make sure people start from scratch. You'd be surprised how much working under these circumstances helps you learn to be more efficient while composing.
