hi, uh, i mentioned in the discord how its sad that theres no gfx format for mario paint

so im here to request mario paint finally becoming a format on botb, the accepted filetypes could be emulator savestates or a save file. you also dont have to worry about this format being an old ass snes game because theres a little format called "super mario world" which might also require an old ass snes game

also it would be cool if the class points the format gave you were pixelist

This format seems like a no-brainer

I like the idea of this one in spirit, though it is pretty unfortunate there's no elegant way to share the results of your efforts

yeah mulling this over a bit more, I don't like that it lacks a good way to share/upload your entries, and I also don't particularly like that it requires the actual game.

the game thing is a grey area that we've allowed exceptions for before, and tbh I do think the same argument for super mario world applies to mario paint as well. I think it's fitting, conceptually, as a format. it is, as they say, "a classic", and art focused to boot! but I still don't love the idea of adding more formats that require ownership or piracy of a thing, especially in this case with something that's hard to even submit for. it's kinda just savestates, emulator saves and photos, right? needing one of 100 different snes emulators sounds tricky for voting and for filetype allowances. is there any kind of patching or extraction/import people could use to open an entry up?
