I hate to rant off a full "design" for this, but I find it an interesting challenge to balance the negative with the positive with this idea.

First, we must be consistent with incorrectly spelling the word and adding an accent mark somewhere. I would call it it "håight."

If implemented, perhaps it could be extremely obscured from view and even then vaguely detailed. It could be made as a tooltip over the "liēked this" text (thus, requiring at least one liēk) that only says how many people håighted it (or maybe not listing who håighted it would be a bad idea).

Maybe we could ashbury things as well.

I figure it's a good way to voice preference or distaste about ideas, comments, requests, etc. Simply the lack of a liëk doesn't accurately give someone's idea or a forum for expression. I don't think mean-spiritedness inherently comes into question. Otherwise it's a good character analysis of potential trollish behavior.

I also like how it parodies and is noncomformist with current social culture. We're not on BotB with our real names, are we? And I do hope puke7 is not deanonymizing us and selling our data to other data analysis and collection firms. ;)

umm, it may not be relevant for lieks and haights to affect aura or karma. Someone could say something trollish and you may "liek" it. It should probably be criticist points.

What if the user who gets the like or hate on comments have their aura manipulated as well. or would that open up to like/hate abuse to change shiny white auras to demon hell black?

Indeed, if you like a post, could the option to unlike be displayed before the option to hate.

Not to mention you can like and hate a post at the same time.

Weirdly for me the message just displays as hїt, yet I can copy and paste it and get hӕїt just fine. I'm almost positive it's something on my end though.
