Hi all, I don’t own FL and was hoping to try using Genny VST in OpenMPT. Has anybody had luck with this setup? The instruments sound good within OpenMPT but when I export the vgm some weird behaviors happen like unexpected note shifting and instrument changes (played back in VGMplay). Help a noob out? Thanks in advance.

Update: I think one of the issues I'm seeing, at least with the note shifting, is that when I hear the music interpreted live, it's actually shifting slightly out of tune (juuust less then one step sharp, ugh).

i never tried it - actually, i never tried any vst on openmpt... im curious to try soon

about note shifting issues, sad that we still dont have true vgm editors around, so i could only suggest editing it in a hex editor, or a hexdump of it in a text editor (assuming that you can find the notes as register values...)

instrument changes you mean fm? weird because on ym2612 (and most yamaha fm chips, except ym2413) you define a patch per channel, so both issues might be bugs?

It definitely seems to be a bug related to how OpenMPT handles VSTs, or at least this one in particular. I ran trials of Reaper and FL studio and the same version of the VST sounds and records great in both.

Makes me wanted to do a wider check of other VSTs in OpenMPT to see if there are other similar issues.
