the site:battleofthebits.com google search is a pain to use (most pages i look for aren't indexed) and the !entry etc bot commands are finicky and limited, so here's an alternative solution powered by the botb API. it searches battles, users, entries, and lyceum articles by name/title substring.

oh hey folks i've already removed the google search and put the jangler search in its stead!!

we've also added thread title to the search as well now!!! :D/

not sure how related it is, but:

jangler search is currently blocked from making requests to the site because we were having issues with a ddos attack or web scrapers making the site loads timeout

i'm still not sure exactly what the issue was
but n00bs who are not logged in can't load the site for now

ok -- update::

had to block 4 large ip ranges
i don't think the jangler search had anything to do with it
so its back up and ready for use
