Alright - I'm gonna start fucking around with the Sample Data Base and shit.... what I need are suggestions on genres or categories of samples - here's what i've got listed so far <b>::</b>

| drumz | percussion | animals | horns | woodwinds | ambiance | strings | keys | 8bit | sound fx | clicks + pops | voices |

I was also thinking that maybe more than one category could be selected for each sample for much more fun in the cross-referencings. 3 or 5 categories at max. I'm ready to handle up to 25 categories...
Now I'm gonna start coding this thing.

I think you should use alot of genres like 'dickflaps', 'garter snails', 'plethorias' & 'millenial multi-taskings'.

Would it be possible to save samples that did not get used from this comp. to be added to the next one.That way we wouldn't be having to re-samp the same sample...

I know that I had some that I thought were better that what made it....I'm sure some of you did too...

Oh yeah and ....will this be more than just annually now that it seems a "bit" easier?

there is a period before every comp when samples can be uploaded for that comp
in the in-between eras the sample database can continue to expand, however, if the players keep adding
samples from this competition will not be 'recycled' to the next - just make more
plans for another competition will be in the fall
and a chipmusic comp in the winter to follow
hopefully more regular as the site grows!

there needs to be a DPCM sample area :D

a better way to vote for many tracks (a suggest) could be like the famicompo list. Your able to vote for each track. it could be something like

DOWNLOAD TRACK - SPEACKER - ARTIST - TRACK - TIME - VOTES 1-7 (in each category).

But using the OHC system, so ppl could be able to vote and change his vote before the compo end.

A "main menu", when you loggin in, could be nice and usefull, to have a kind of manu with the options you have (not just in the NAVI). Including other options like:
Avatar/pass change, edite profile, msg a botb user, search buttom (to look for content), your stats (lvl, aura, flag, homepage, etc etc), Random buttom (to go a random place of the site)
