So I got the new Firefox version 3 today and it has this tacky anti-aliasing for images resized by html. It does a good job of making resized stuff look smoother. But that totally sucks for pixel-art based images -- the point of pixel art is using square, ugly pixels. Then I was informed this was the plight for all Mac OS users too.

So I ask -- perhaps icons, trophies & bit_text should actually have enlarged versions saved separately? Because it looks all nasty hifi on teh BotB lofi, duct tape interface doesn't it? And even Mac users shouldn't be forced to see it that way.

definitely.

You can probably turn anti-aliasing off somewhere in firefox which I'm gonna do as soon as I decide to install the new version, but that's just for your personal preference of course, you can't expect every playa to do that. :x

I say all the silly Mac users get what they deserve! Oh... um... I mean... I would assume that miau is correct. It is nice that they want to have smoother graphics, but I am sure they are fully aware that pixel art is still a big thing in many circles...

Where is the self-proclaimed Google Master (AKA Strobe)? Make him figure it out! That is his job... right?! I mean... we can't let the pixel die!

I'm not sure what you guys are on about, I"m using FF3 on OS X and don't see any anti-aliasing nor did I in FF2. Screenshot perhaps?

I've been contemplating about this for a while and came to the conclusion that we should threaten mozilla to un-release firefox 3.
Seriously, if you want anti-aliasing hook up your comp to an old 1990s TV.

Not that this is actually antialiasing in my view,
this is scaling interpolation.
But it looks like crap anyway when not intended.
