Welcome hackers and scriptkiddies to round 2 of the
infamous Format Mystery challenge. Due date: Ended!

Download the package from:
http://lmao.rotfl.at/upload/Strobe/FileFormatMystery2.zip

In there will be 17 random snippets of files (no whole files),
your challenge is to try to find out what the original format of the file is, use the template text file to fill these in.

When you are done, send it to strobeflux@gmail.com
together with your BotB name and wait.

The winner will get 1000 boons. in case of a tie, the earnings will be split.

There will be no hints. This is meant to be challenging, do not count on getting every single one correct.

Edit: I will not accept answers like "Image format" "Database format", since those are too generic, i want a more precise explanation.
In the case of ambiguity and where people are sort of correct i will give 0.5 Points at my discretion.

Any hexeditor would do fine for analysis, and then general knowledge of fileformats is helpful.

i managed to post 50% with just notepad++ :^)

Whew! Fun stuff! Surprised at the outcome, I suppose, heh... xD

.xi was a sneaky one for sure, and thumbs.db was the other one I got confuzzled on. Took me friggin' ages to get .mov and .rar, too, and the Registry took a good chunk of research too (mainly 'cause the Win7 machine I was using didn't have the particular named snippet, so I wasn't able to confirm; had to pull out my Win8 desktop to check, and sure enough, it was there...)
