I wouldn't like new profile comments in Recent Postings on the front page (I'd imagine it would get even more cluttered than it already is), a notification from the messages on the top would work fine!

I like this idea fosho, but I'd definitely want it to be done via top-bar and not via e-mail. In fact, if there's an e-mail notification option, i wouldn't use it, and if it's a forced e-mail notification, I'll start bitching in the bugs forum. xP

I agree with ipi that it should give you a notification like a mailbox but it shouldn't be "you gotz mail" it should be "you got mael"
