voter strength View HTML Version

'[o]Voter strength'[/o] refers to the amount of influence that a '[[BotBr[BotBr's] votes have on an entry's average score. Those with a lower influence do not sway the average voting score as much as a user with a higher influence.
'[#[Purpose]
This system serves two fundamental purposes:

'[t[b1]Encourage Voting on All Entries'[/t]
The fewer entries a BotBr votes on, the less impact their votes have. This impact directly correlates to the number of entries voted on, so if a BotBr votes on all entries submitted in a '[[battle], their votes are weighted at 100%. If some '[[n00b (class)[n00b] registers only to vote on a friend's single track in the same battle, their vote would have little impact because they only voted on a single entry.

The formula for calculating influence based on the percentage of entries voted on is as follows: INF * (entry_count/100) * percent_entries_votable_voted_on

Also, BotBrs cannot vote on their own entries. Because of this, battle participants cannot reach 100% of their voting prowess—don't worry though, the '[[Criticist (Class)[Criticists] will pick up the slack!

'[t[b1]Realizing Capitalism over Democracy'[/t]
BotB has taken the stance that n00bs are n00bs and their voices should be taken with a grain of salt. Although this has been controversial, we must remember that BotB is an MMORPG in the making and spending time here should count for something. It doesn't take very long to amass points and level up, anyway.

The voter strength that appears on a BotBr's barracks profile is calculated by adding up all the digits of their total points. For now, this number gets divided by 5 and truncated for actual compo tallies. No one's voter strength is ever less than one until you apply the voting percentage.
