I'm sure this has already been done before, but it should happen again! In the midst of all of the different subdivisions of BotB groups and such, respect should be due to the site a lot of us went to to find our musical selves, or just jam with a community that encourages such. Thank puke for putting up with us, and putting lots of work into BotB!

Bring some PotB (Positivity Of The Bits)!

For example...

i <3 botb because it encourages community individuality with different ranks, colors, and profile customizations! everyone can pursue most audio/visual crafts they want here! you can be a chippist, pixelist, or even a mappist! here, you become!!!

thank u puk ' w '

I <3 botb because it is my main source of inspiration. There are some real great, unique and creative artists on this site and some damn kind people that every day help me grow as a musician. As a person even. :-) The whole concept and layout of the site is just exceptional aswell!

I learn about making music for new chips here, which is why I have enjoyed this place over the past couple of years. I came here in the first place because I discovered SNES music here.

Without botb I never would have had the motivation to continue trying musical composition (says the pixelist)! Everyone I've spoken to here has been really welcoming, too.

I may not be the most active person in terms of participation, but entering contests is always fun. Despite the competitive atmosphere, I've never heard people being rude about others' entries, which is part of why I'd always been scared of competition.

So glad I joined this website ^ω^

A while before BotB, I stopped making music. I was completely unmotivated and didn't really know how to continue in my abilities as a musician. When I stumbled upon BotB I was intrigued (and confused; the layout was something that took getting used to haha). I liked game music and had a some experience in it having used Famitracker before. Seeing that there was a place where lots of people shared this common interest, I was ecstatic.

BotB brought back my motivation stronger than I would have imagined (over 100 entries so far) and not only in bit battling! Off of what Beard was saying, I've built up my strength at pixeling, figured out how to use javascript, learned about other chips and how they work/how they sound, been getting lots of experience with Renoise; there's nothing bad that's come out of this (except for maybe a missed class or two haha)

if it wasn't for this site, I don't know how long it would have taken for me to think about making music again, if ever.

Thank you BotB! I love you this much

|----------------------------------------------------------| (a lot)

now winter break needs to hurry on up so I can participate in my first winter chip

Joining BotB was honestly one of the best things I could have done for myself and my music. The mix of

A) competition format of this site, and
B) insane amount of talent here

has pushed me to be the best composer I can be. It has also influenced me to try different trackers besides LSDJ for the Gameboy (although that is still my main, and probably always will be).

And finally, seeing how everybody here is really kind and helpful is the cherry on top of what is an excellent online community (and it's especially nice for me since I'm ridiculously shy).

Here's to you, BotB. Cheers!

I love botb because everyone here is so friendly, and n00bs are treated as "yo, welcome to the site dood!" instead of "ugh, not another newbie...". Even I was a bit skeptical about this "all n00bs!" mentality; I discovered this site through the YTPMV community, (raphaelgoulart and Zillah for example) and to put it lightly, they aren't exactly the friendliest community. But everyone has been nothing but kind to me, and even if I'm not the best musician, there's always helpful guides in the Lyceum, making this one of the most n00b friendly competiton sites I've ever been to!
