I'm kinda curious, why not just announce the H2OC and then start an OHC one hour later so people could submit and vote and point up on the site?

It's an option we considered, but I didn't know if pukes would be cool with it. It seems innocuous enough, but you could argue that it's abuse of the OHC system.

In any case, I know more flexible hosting options are something puke wants to implement (probably as a reward for having a "level 2" format badge or somesuch), so hopefully this functionality will be built in next time we want to do something like this.

I can host time variable sized battles though, just as a small note!

what if there were battles where the time remaining just showed a big ??? until there were just 5/10 minutes left??? and they might be anywhere from half-hour battles to hour-and-a-half battles and there's no way to know, not even the host knows

Get started on a 32 channel .xm and load up instruments and SURPRISE it's a 10min compo and you have 1 row done

BotB metagame complicates and now people yell at each other for doing "all-ins"
