So I was at this Independent Media conference at few weekends past.

I ran into an independent film maker making a documentary on Rappers/MCs in the West Bank/Gaza/Palestine.

Most of their songs are quite political. The problem they run into is that since the conditions there are so appalllingly bad, the rappers/MCs have no access to computers/studios to make beats. So they end up using preexisting and copyrighted instrumental tracks to rap over.

The thought that occurred to me was that we, as members of free musical society at battleofthe bits, could provide tracks/loops that the Palestinain rappers could use without fear of copyright reprisal.

I understand that there are many conflicting views on the whole Palestine/Israel issue.

But I think this might be a really cool concept.

Fellow BotB-ers, please let me know what you think.

I think that's a great idea. I'd be willing to whip up some beats for them!

kewl!

I'll let this simmer on the board for a bit and see if we get anyother responses.

Right now I'm thinking that interested composers could submit one complete track and maybe a couple of 1:30 loops.

But I'm open to pretty much anything

Yes to puke7...
and Lebenon... All I can say is that the other day at work I beleive CNN was running a lower third banner that read "Beginning of WWIII?"

don't some of those 2012-ers believe the shit will start to go down 2006?

In response to Sly; anything you want would be fine.
There will be no limit to creativity.

I'm going to give a completed track that I have done nothing with for a few years and hopefully a new one as well.

So did you give your completed track already whilst the rest of us suffer a lonely producer existance?

Screw this project!

I am now writing Zionist beats forever just because your follow-up on this thread is malign.
