INTRODUCTION
During the major/XHB entry period, there's a bitpack to guide the entrants to produce their entries. What is something restricted, any themes and whatnots. There are various types of bitpacks depending on the hoster.
In XHBs (one/two/four hour battles), it has a big button that says "Bitpack" with XHB_(battle_number). You will receive one, either as text, an image, or a zip. (or also other format file like Impulse Tracker file in s3xmodit battol)
- Ocassionally, for a classic text bitpack only. The bitpack will tell you about a specific restrictions. Such as, create a song longer than 3 mins, make a certain genre, only 1 instrument, etc.
- Image bitpack is practical if the hoster wants to add something more visual instead of just text.
- For a zip, you will recieve an instruments and/or samples and with a text file as a note/restrictions (e.g., only use given SGEN instruments, don't change it; only use sample from this bitpack, don't use external samples**)
In majors, however, it is not required to have this bitpack button. Depending on the major battle.
There's a major battle where:
- You make a song with no restriction of theme or whatever, e.g., Summer Chip.*
- You are required to use the sample/presets, e.g., Chipwrecked, Raw GEMS.
- Has a bitpack button, e.g., Advent Calendar
- The restriction is stated on battle description (can be also seen in theme/genre focused major), e.g., PROGRESSION.

From this battle, you need to make a song with only 3 channels. So make a song with ONLY pulse 1, 2, and triangle; pulse 1, triangle, noise, and any other combinations.
(From my extent, at least. I was unaware of this battle because I was traveling when the XHB was occurred.)
