I learnt about some really cool things today so I thought about sharing it here!
ConvertWithMoss : a converter between different formats for sample based instruments, I used it to convert a bunch of Kontakt instruments I had on my computer to sfz (like those from this pack) and it worked pretty well!
The Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra library : a big collection of free orchestral samples, both available as sfz instruments and wav samples. I toyed a bit with it and these seem to be all single note samples, which is nice to easily create your own melodies. It should complete well the (free) BBC orchestral pack, made of longer phrases.
In addition I also found out that Plogue's Sforzando sfz player is now available on Linux (in addition to Windows and macOS)! Well... after this I realized that you can open sfz instruments in Renoise so I'll probably stick more often to this option but this is still good news :D
Is there other nice tools you use or know about? Since I started to discuss about it, this can be a good occasion to share knowledge!
