Everyone loves BotB, but what about the people on the site??
Who do you look up to? Who makes the coolest niche tunes? Any unique and eccentric fellows? This thread is all about discussing BotBrs that are cool and very cool.

Every time I hear a song by sean, I think "what a delightful and inventive song!"

I'm awed by dami's tireless organization of battles, consistently high-quality entries, and feedback on others' work -- on this site, and elsewhere.

In addition to making killer music, amelia is one of the wittiest and most entertaining participants in chat.

And nitrofurano reminds me that it's okay to submit something even if it's wildly off the beaten path, which is both liberating and inspiring.

TennesseeFields makes some very unique and exciting off-the-wall compositions in the realm of free jazz and noise rock and other things that beautifully eschew the need for specific pitch/harmony, which inspires the heck outta me. this song
, while not on BotB, is something i come back to again and again

zenkusa is an amazing person and gifted musician! his penchant for earwormiest melody, extended harmony and all-out prog is unparalleled. here's a favorite
from SPCX. the melody just flows and flows as the music builds and changes!

blue.nocturne is the crown prince of heartfelt melody and also a wonderful collab partner, we have made 5 tunes together and counting! classic bluenoc tune
from SPCIX, i even covered it once!

sean has a particular vibrant knack for counterpoint, pacing, rubato, and gesture that i find really inspiring. i always feel like i have a lot to learn from their .it modules and the freedom with which it sounds like they write. here's one of many favorites and also a bonus beautiful ambient one

doctorn0gloff has the best chords and makes me routinely feel like i'm enveloped in a warm blanket within an idyllic parallel universe where everyone is happy and thriving. here's one of my favs
that absolutely blows my mind

don'tblinkoryou'lldie has got the perfect blend of heart-on-sleeve emo-pop and absolutely hardcore rockin' headbang, an impressive breadth of style both when mixed together and when separate. this Summer Chip XII entry is one of my favoritemost things i heard in all of 2022 and it routinely gets stuck in my head. this one also goes so, so hard...

there are so many people here doing amazing things, it feels criminal to stop my list here

Kot makes nice music with awesome composition, he is a great Nokia and NES musician! I really like this one from him.

kgb525 is one of the best artists I have listened to. awesome style with nice and pleasant sounds. I can't really decide for a favourite of Karl's, but if I really had to choose one, I would pick this song

tennisers is just great, I like tennis's songs due to them being so relaxing and emotional. I also like the occasional memes and shitposts :D

argarak makes cool nerdy tunes, manages to do something great with lots of experimenting and I find that to be an astonishing skill.

tree demolishes every wildchip and allgear OHB. just that she's sometimes late, but her entries are always top notch. she has many great songs, and I would also suggest checking her newgrounds
, as there are many great songs of hers there too!

ok. get the fuck ready

puke7. wish i had thought of making the online song game! guy sat down and made a friggin nes game this year, cart and all. living the dream as far as i'm concerned. gotta get my shit together so i can start my own LoBlast.

pretty sure amelia changed the trajectory of my artistic life the most, just for being an avatar of soyo oka. happy jazzy short the lick. it's one of the pullstars i used to pull myself up to where i am now. shout out docnogloff, also a disciple of the "kaleidoscope of jazzy sweetness" school of musicmake. it's just good for someone like me to be around artists like them. mimi, we need to talk more, i miss that. i care about u

the one known here as razerek. consistently an inspiration for me. and a friend i'm really glad to have made. legendary shiny reptile

damian fortnite. it's amazing when an artist can consistently express their sensibility.. was thinking about this the other day, how valuble it is to see "a large chunk of human preference" as you can in art. well, hunter has his own oblique angle of approach to aural art, and it's an incredibly valuable one because it invites you to experience sound in new ways. how could i not be inspired, even though our methods tend to differ, by the best mod4ker to ever do it? it's with such fondness that i recall our time together. hunter you are v special.

with music, i feel like what inspires me isn't always stuff that aligns with my own process, but rather diverges fascinatingly into alternate dimensions. lot of people on here are the type that inspire me by showing me what it means to go hard. not like, edm drop hard, i mean go hard in a mysterious direction, against the level boundaries, clipping through. both bubblegum octopus and blower5 are like this, you guys are insane. laughing and shaking my head.

hope we get more buttonmasher entries. nuff said

defmech! you're the next guy to come to mind! i was watching that vid of your set at state street pub and , it was just like, damn. when i see the enthusiasm that some people in the chip world have for what they do, it makes me feel like i belong. shouldn't you be admin on this site? what's the hold up there. btw, thank you so much for your support and kind words.

sulkaritari. alba, your music is so good. i think you must have such a good heart. might have a slight crush on you

hugh. absolute rapscallion. we should talk more, i like you. the blood of the arranger runs in your veins..!! what will happen next?? make some songies!!! maybe we should actually collab this time! i'm so bad at that..

shout out to tobikomi. holding it down on the botb. when i think of botb, i just like, feel a certain criminal's face looking back at me. you seem like a great guy and your music has really been shining lately, growing ever richer with character with each year.

kleeder, we have not always seen eye to eye. but when i think of botb, i see toadette. it scares me. i'm scared now. seriously though, you are a crucial part of this site. everyone knows this. i don't have to say it.

mioh, you are amazing! i will always have a special spot in my heart for you, plus i say yar now, like almost constantly.

sintel, the first person to welcome me to botb. you can catch me saying nice things about sintel like every few weeks. it's like, a professional crush, i think some people are just such goddamn leonardo da vinci engineer inventor types, i aspire to be like that.

sean, i have already commented about this particular ascension to musical beast mode but like seriously. you've become quite adept at animating sound..it's music that feels alive. that's really the goal here, isn't it? that's what we're trying to do. i can't wait to see where you're going with this!

ominpigeonmaster. opm, you are .. an incredible force. i'm in awe of your constant stream of cool-as-hell music, and ofc i'm honored to have been part of your original ohb krew. here's to a great 2023! wahooooo

maaaaandrasigma! ahhhhhhh another consistent stream of inventiveness and insight formation and abstraction. what an amazing person, really just, earnest and sweet and studious. ah jeez we have come to yet another person hanna has had a minor crush on at some point

coda. killing it since the old school. inspirational.

strobe. magnificent machine man. it's amazing to know people like this exist.

new cabbage just dropped.. a quiet and industrious guy, cranking out cabbage jams, always refining the process. love to see a fellow disciple of rhythm in their zone

abstract64. stop beating yourself up so hard. it is getting legit annoying (besides, way too relatable). you are going to be a legend someday. wait you already fucking are ?

argarak. wizard of xm and at2. reminding me that pure molecular idm is closer to being the lifeblood of what i do than i usually consider it to be. it's pure sound invention, and always nice to hear

tree. tami you're such a funny and cute person and your music always goes so freaking hard in the paint that it is frankly ridiculous. love your "action painting" style of harmony ahah, you really just throw everything at what you do! and then submit late! fuck yes!

luigi64. something about your music reminds me of a specific era of my music where i think i was concentrating on a specific kind of.. hmm, i guess "epicness" might be the word. you find it in old vgm a lot and it rubbed off on me. anyways all your stuff is epic like that and it gives me life

i love that there's a bunch of guys bringing super positive, jazz fusion inflected music to the site. nard is like that, kot is like that. oh man, and now beej is doing entries. it's a freaking bliss factory. then you have asikwuspulse adding some old school tracker flavor to the mix.

some of our newer botbrs are really already becoming an important part of the musical ecosystem, like tex and lasertooth, whose work i'd encountered elsewhere before, and am glad to see here. i don't know if i know frag, but their stuff is also super creative.

kalii: you're a fascinating person! we should prob talk more, though you're just gonna forget everything i say!! maybe you forgot i told you this: i listened to your music on this site and think it's really cool. you bring emotions into every note i think. we have similar storytelling impulses too.

jakerson. super musician and modern classic botbr. "No Rush! Let's Enjoy The Sunset!" is permanently stuck in my head, thanks i guess

petet. someone who has inspired me to take up, well, i took up the viola instead but like.. yeah. i'm not good yet. anyways, your music is always excellent!

vavbert: another modern classic botbr. someone give this guy a job doing music for games. pay him like, a bunch of dollars. let's get this over with

father aka papa psx. an ever-more sophisticated banger machine. seeing you evolve over the past years into a monstrous talent has been great. hyped to see what's next

svipal. you're on botb. i feel a deep kinship with you. i can't describe it. seriously. just thought you should know that.

skydev. dappo you are such a cool creature!! your recent music, i heards it, it was so cool! btw thank you for enjoying my songies as well!

biruhan. biruhan elevates the site with the sheer quality and attention to detail he brings to the table. it's really impressive

kgb525. karl has been bringing the jams for years. pervasive aura of stankface, with really nice song flow. like biru, a consistent gold getter, for obvious reason: being pro as heck. satin city was a revelation at the time, what great drive and energy! ended up leading into a cool album too!

bluenocturne: your music enchants the hearts of the people. do you know how valuable that is? please get a job doing music for games or something. please give your gift to as many people as you can.

zenkusa: your music stimulates the intellect of the people. do you know how valuable that is? please get a job doing music for games or something. please give your gift to as many people as you can.

melonadem. inspired an achievement award system that i've been considering retooling and relaunching, hah. he's been melting face being super producer of megajams for freaking ever, huh? may it never end, imo

lumby-san. whose personality is the size of a small bus. botb's park ranger. if you know where to stand in the late afternoon, you can see him on his rounds. whose ansis scream "this is botb!!" because they're that in touch with the culture somehow

dippy. i honestly think we should institute some kind of limited name change system for botbrs, especially honored botbrs like one "Yung Gotenks". it would be good for the site. i'm using this space to advocate for it. puke: do the right thing. anyways, like tobi, you're a part of the backbone of the site, with super solid jams for days.

golgi. you are probably off on some crazy adventure right now. you probably are not even reading this. be careful okay? you always stood out to me when i looked back into the prev gen of botbrs. i don't know if i understand you as a person but it feels like i knew you in a past life. btw staffcirc songie was good

nitrofurano. you are such a fascinating character. i feel like this could be described as the era of nitrofurano. all our battles are watermarked with your unique handiwork. i'm glad you found a place here, even if your audio format entries sometimes annoy me and kleeder. people who use the computer to make cool stuff are my favorite kind of people

bravoman and blast_brothers two botbrs with b names who continue to put out quality music in the current era. keep it up gentlemen

talin, when your name came to my head, it was like, oh yeah, wait a sec, where did they go? hah, like i said in channel, hope to see another entry sometime, when you've got time to kill! your stuff is dope and absolutely nuts

aji. minor crush alert, again. just a cool person who has been making cool shit for years, not enough people know about how cool aji is. aji has the soul of the engineer, and is a visual thinker, both key talents in music as it turns out! your music looks good, and is well designed!

quirby64. cute and cool person. who like, rocks really hard? also? .. to what great heights you may someday ascend. oh, you should listen to my ohb songie "sleepless still.mp3" . i realize in retrospect that is me doing my version of quirby energy. i might aspire to sing as good as you someday,,

kasran: good typh.. grao! thank you for taking me out for asian food that one time, we should do that again! i will bother you about this at some point..

littletheremin. tbh i consider you a botb legend in the same tier as strobe. you are a true master of what you do. i respect that.

dusthillresident. we always have a good conversation whenever we talk. i think you're a really amazing person. and admire your staunch advocacy for free and open source software, heehee. sorry i never got good at super monaco gp.

robyn: when it comes to the monsquaz swaps we both were on, your patterns always struck me as some of the most fun to work on/around, you and patty both. can't explain exactly why that is. have you moved away from musicmaking in recent days? i pray it someday returns to you in a big way. i think you're great.

midori: you're not really around too much anymore but, .. sometimes i use your colors in openmpt, they're so good. you seem like such a really sweet girl and i can't help but worry about you sometimes, sorry about that. i wish you good things

cheechee: i crave more colorful transposecore. it's literally wrong and immoral that you are not more active in music. you could build something outrageous. please consider my words. .. i just went on soundcloud and found new cheechee uploads on a new account! i am the first follower! what a fortuitous happening!!!

minerscale: can i ask you to run that score over time script again? we are talking an aussie who wrote a clarinet quartet here, can you get more epic than that? the answer is: No.

loni: i feel like our imaginations give us a natural link, loni! i admire your craft so much, maybe someday we can work together! thank you for showing me the things you make!

freddyxdanger! you could not know how much i value being in your tribe of cats! .. waaaa thank you for being you! you ROCK!

jamie (who was on this site as some other names), kipptune. both last gen botbrs i have the pleasure of interacting with today. lol.. jamie nicetone, .. ... ... i feel like i need to watch over you . for the rest of your life. HAHAH that came out way creepier than intended. you're so cute and goofy it kills me and your songies go hard as fuck. you worked damn hard to be an s tier rhythm gamer and i think that is fucking pogberted, straight up. kipptune: if i make a hardware tracker, and it has pcm and fm, will you make some old school shit for one of my demo songs?

kilowatt: i really have enjoyed your progress! it's inspiring to me! you are a deeply creative person! keep goiiing!!!

sera aka multi aka tilde. kind of a qt ngl. here's someone who did go make their own online song game ! and other games! and other things! someone like this is destined to be a powerhouse.

themnotyou: you're always making a mess on here, lol, but you're really a genius. that's all. take care of yourself. and thank you for the kind words you've offered me. i feel a resonance with your work.

tennisers. speaking of geniuseses. you are a funny character, and an asset to the website to be frank. occasionally you make things of great beauty.

mkstar26. otherworld. sapphic tapestry. enigma (in the snowyfields of elysia)

Lime Boiler: sometimes i wanna suplex you for reasons beyond language but like for the most part.. i admire you. there i said it. also damn was katawa shoujo seriously ten years ago. eleven now. damn

yanlin telebasher you are my friend. i love you.

tristan nintendo: a key component to the soul of botb, a constant presence lately which is just, so good. 1474 entries and counting. great sense of rhythm, each entry is a lil rhythmic gem

funute continues to provide renders for the unrendered entries of the site, also contributing some charming music! a friendly presence, always!

savestate. do you all know how epic savestate is? famous outside of botb for Link reasons, a really cool musician too!!

jangler: you seem really cool! i was looking at your github and there's just a bunch of cool stuff! yeah! happy to serve on the botb board with you all!

sinc-x: i'm tired of typing this so i'm just gonna copy paste. [someone give this guy a job doing music for games. pay him like, a bunch of dollars. let's get this over with ]. one of my fave timesigsters, actually.

vincmg: i'm not really in any spaces with you right now, which .. idk, it kinda sucks. i loved watching you play ravel. i think your albums are incredible.

ShlubShlubBweh aka eglaios. you have amazing potential and you probably know it. you also possess a roving, inquisitive mind that seeks to find out the truths of the world. may you become a great artist and contribute something great to art.

ravancloak. you seem like my kind of person. it seems like you're always up to something neat.

GTAP: a fellow appreciator of weird music! :handshake emoji:

DBOYD: i have taken notice of how freaking hard you rock.

doctor: i find everything you do deeply fascinating. you're not active on the site and so unlikely to read this.

wednesday: i wish you still made entries here sometimes, and i wish we still talked! hope you are well!

kungfufurby: your contributions to snes chiptune are legendary. you are like an owl, looking over the scene, keeping track of a long timeline of compo related activities. you are valued.

gyms. thank you for enjoying my stuff, it means a lot, i respect your acumen in this domain. i would love to hear more music from you.

tael, you're on botb, so i can't leave you out. you already know i think you're cool as shit. someday we need to chill and play some music

castlenes: we miss you! we all hope you're doing well, whereever you are!

lincent: what a strange young man.. with the soul of the outsider. and yet, there is that seed of empathy. i appreciate lincent

roz: accompany this poem is a great xhb series, i want to do more of them! your music is lovely too btw!

klutzy: please stay off the site for a year then come back and politely ask me to be unbanned but you have to stay gone for one year, and you have to admit you're also keygenism and virus and declector. and then you have to not yell or be rude. please do this. enter the era of chill klutzy. you can be on botb yet, i will vouch for you.

lotepamera: ... you are freaking ... an amazing storyteller. a unique and valuable presence here. more prog please ! more whatevr you want please

dolce: thank you for playing me in chess! we should play again sometime hah! your music is so sweet, too! aaah, it makes me feel so good!

radamlee: fellow lee, fellow rock and roll creature. i see you. deep down you and me both are feral cats, prowling the edges of the jungle of the mind.

zzzv: besides sintel, the botbr whose botbing career i missed where it hurts the most i think, that i missed it. love your doom mapping.

viravax: thank you so much for your interest in my work. tris, i don't feel like you are confident enough about yourself. matisse said something once like "creativity takes courage" and i'm one to agree, fortune belongs to the bold. just a thought. keep training in the art of the tracker musician, really define yourself. you can do this.

FΛDE: like a64, you're a young talent who is like, .. gonna be famous. everything about you is like "the stuff you were doing before becoming famous". you're a thoughtful producer and a budding composer besides, keep up the good work.

PCA: first, PANTHER CAT ANIMAL is a sick artist handle. also: lsdj jams! training in the art of animation too, huh? i approve!

kyle perkis: hope you have been well. your spring tracks entry this year was super interesting. keep it weird!!

02fd: now that you're less of a pain in the ass, i'm enjoying having you around! haha,.. yeah, you're the right kind of nerd for this place. you have a unique sensibility, i wonder where you'll take it.

tomasAP aka miragey: tomas, you're on botb. i'm a big tomas fan, you know that. i'm always glad to hear from you. not only a great illustrator, but a damn good musician as well.

dimwiddy aka dimmers: an epic pixel artist. also a damn good musician! cool.

firespike33: please make music for games. please make music that rocks as hard as the music you make, for games. or for something. you have to.

mabe: everything i've heard from you has been enchanting and magical. i'm hoping to hear more soon!

modalmodule: you are a force of pure vgm, i am so pleased to see you on botb. your yea videogame entry is just so fucking.. comprehensive! what a journey. it goes everywhere.

yuzu: we miss you, super chiptune/tracker producer! come back as soon as you can!

snabisch: and over here we have snabisch, doing his thing. god bless you!

joshcat: a dedicated listener and top ranking playa! botb appreciates the love!

jaxcheese! the pxtone master. you have such a gift for arranging parts, i really can feel the thought you put into things. i'm always impressed!

sidedishes: you too are a pxtone master, with a gift for arranging parts! you remind me of bluenocturne sometimes and that's a big compliment.

arcane toaster: i'm just so happy when a young musician takes to trackers with this kind of naturalness; it's like it was meant to be. they then proceed to make expressive, interesting songies. that rock! that's you. that's what you do. keep it up

gell: i'd like to take this opportunity to inform you that hanna thinks you are brilliant.

snugglybun: i just made you sign up the other day. it was in the hope you make something for winter chip, and you put so much of your heart magic into it, that you get at least a bronze in the heart magic category. cheering you on from over here.

googie: your music shows such sensitivity and contains such joy. it's a marvellous thing. botb is lucky to have had your many different contributions!

blue_christmas: we need more of you on here. you know it. i know it. we all know it. more blue_christmas. pretty please?

mrministermaster. your chops are undeniable. really hoping to see more mmm jams in 2023.

thingerthing: when i first heard your music, just a few years ago, it was still pretty crude -- but you were going hard as shit and that's the first sign that someone is gonna start making breakthroughs. and so here we are in 2023, i'm listening to "imagine both worlds" and , damn. you have seriously matured. this is legit. great things to come, i can tell.

ivel (of many names): i see you, and your long orbital period around this site. encountering each instance of your music is a fascinating little event for me.

chimeratio: each of your 3 entries to this site were great.

cryptovolans: each of your 8 entries to this site were great.

i respect both of you greatly.

radnyx: i know you're crash coursing gamedev now (as i can personally attest, this is a worthy endeavor for any artist), but i really hope to hear more music from you again sometime. you're really good!

meanings! you know i am a big meanings fan! hope you have been well! let's catch up again soon!

chiaro, you're a special kind of creator. i feel enriched somehow whenever i take in your work. more botb entries maybe ?

nu11, your entries just rip. they go so hard. winter chip entry maybe ?

plus, would you like to do more mod4k battles? your entries were always delightful!

kinkinkijkin. i feel like my mind becomes a little broader somehow, every time you speak yours. this is high praise from the hanna. you have a fascinating perspective, and i don't just mean "you're tall", ha. you can be a bit too hot-blooded for your own good, but you are also a deeply passionate person, clear from how you express yourself and communicate your interests. i feel an affinity to you, and wish you the best in all things.

aloelonely. aloechan, whenever you have been on the botb, it was great. similarly, whenever i have been in a room with you, it was also great. let's collab sometime.

juan reina. i am designing a tracker. i would like to make it properly accessible. please know that i have heard your problems and have taken them to heart. thank you for your efforts in helping archive chiptune.

binknsmacker: i believe in you as a hostist. may you find your way to having the mostist. you seem like a super cool kid.

promtastik: new narek entry maybe? at some point? winter chip? doesn't have to be anything too involved. your stuff continues to blow me away.

bluaxolotl aka bluto (maybe it's time for a new botb acct cuz we don't have renaming): if i did more beepbox battles and you knew about them would you enter some stuff? you are awesome!

arthurcrd: we definitely need more of your charming songies on this web site. more arthurcrd imo

architect1 aka nys: advanced music artist from inside a computer. i feel like we would get along maybe

tn kei: i really enjoyed talking to you! get in touch again soon!

this list goes on, and will keep growing. there's fifty more underappreciated beginners and fifty more legends of chipmusic for me to learn more about. lots of memories to sift through. michael frank being excellent. mootbooxle doing incredible things like it's nothing. littlelamp and sasami, roaming production masters both. denkiRAS too. did you know kris troutman of sample pack contest fame is on botb? did you know everyone who knows anything about serious chiptune stuff is on this site? people like takuikaninja or vinscool, or fusoxide who works to make old phone music more accessible. djmaximum ripping it up on the sms. tripplep changing the course of botb history with one tweet. stewboy being so mercilessly tasteful. when i think aym, i think yqn. lint huffer being unique as heq. dotmid doing his midi blastbeats. ko0x bringing such positive, emotional vibes. bitfox dropping avant-aware on that 4hb -- go listen to dream position. pouale being fucking great. sloopygoop bringing rock and roll to lsdj. delighter, your music makes me happy. alexisfree, hope you succeed in your reinvention! shawnphase is still rocking out classic botbtunes on the drums every few nights, you can see that on youtube. there was a botbr called solomon who was kind of a genius. oh man slowbro has entries on this site, go listen to those. jaq also has entries on this site!! AAAA! viraxor, i just listened to revoked.mod, this is such a cool little mod file!

my point is, this list goes on.

i hope you all can feel some measure of the immense gratitude i feel for knowing you all, even if sometimes only in passing. okay i have to stop here, whew. love you all!

thanks so much hannah for the mention!

i've got to nominate sintel for unknowingly starting my BotB journey! it was actually this video
featuring one of his songs which led me to check out his channel looking for more music like that, and that's what led me here.

let's also big up nitro for being one of the most reliable, dedicated, and unique members of this community.

I am terrible at remembering who's who but kfaraday made quite an impression on me.

Besides kf: I remember consistently enjoying entries by (among others) tennisers, gtap (gotoandplay), coda, hanna, strobe, sintel, damifortune, stewboy, mnsn (who is better known as ilkae), zan-zan-zawa-veia, petet... forgetting many rn. Also, a summer chip without a bunch of kgb525 tunes would be kinda sad!

thnaks hanna. I'm always inspired by the harmonies of your entries they make me want to start writing roman numerals. My first battle was an ok fourkay - I had basically just learned openmpt and I still remember how exciting it was to do something so foreign and new.
Truly a great community we have here.

Of others: I've been listening to Razerek's album and I find it awe inspiring. I hear it and I want to study it and steal its secrets. It's beautiful.

I want to thanks to Dam "the fortune" Ifortune as well for hosting many a battle and collab and snes conversation. Truly a good internetifriend I have made.

Also shout to DEFMECH for gameboying that good good. And all the others who have listened. .....

I should probably give my thanks to the many BotBrs here, (I made this post lol) so here are some of my great and influential BotBrs.

ze doctor: Makes some of the most delectable melodies and harmonies I've heard!!! SNES superstar and hidden kftm gems. (I hope you know all your tunes are simply beautiful)

Flambdade: The ULTIMATE jack of all trades. FADE does everything and his talent is shown clearly through all this with his impeccable style! (I hope you know all your tunes are fire)

nitroglycerin: Kind BotBr and a unique asset to our foray of warriorz, nitro has a lot to bring to botb (I hope you know that your entries are cool and have effort even if they don't seem to)

lucky famicom - I'm very amazed at how you can twist even the simplest formats into atmospheric and glitchy masterpeices. dami is a very kind fellow here on BotB, and helps a lot of people out, I've noticed. (I hope you know that everyone is a dami-fan)

nrad in-my yrad!!! - Very cool BotBr that came in and made great tunes from the start. I can detect a nice and unique style out of you, and I'd go to say that you're BALLER (I hope you know you are destined for the hall of mighty championz)

(I will edit this later because I've definetley forgotten some admirable and eximable fellows.)

I have to thank ida for bringing me into the PC-music communities with her (nowadays dead) discord server Tracker Music, that I found on her modarchive.org profile and decided to join in 2018.

The first from botb I got to know there was dippy and midori (tobikomi, moviemovies1 and googie was also in the server, but we almost never came across each other in the chats). After that, even though botb never was mentioned iirc, one day I came across some of the tracker-cat mods kleeder and googie had submitted to WCXIV in the new-additions batch on modarchive.org, where they ofc mentioned about botb with links. That resulted in some quick curiosity-visits, but the crazy jargonistic design-style felt repellent for the past shy me. (and now I'm used to it to the point it's barely noticeable xD)

But thanks to midori threatening friendship with convincing ida to join botb, and googie's tempting words "come join us n00b :p" on their modarchive.org profile, I got interested enough to join! :D

there are so many to name that has inspired me in one way or another, or appreciate, and I don't want any to feel left out. But of those I can think of rn:
hanna - for the huge appreciation post I was part of here x)
nard, 02FD, lincent, and others I certainly cannot remember who of those I know - for feedback on wips in cave dingle
modo - for joining the "big" soundcanvas invasion on Match Mayhem :D, along with kot
petet, th4 d34d, vav, bravoman - for returning nice comments on some of my tunes :)
zebra - for music you made that I not too long ago realised I liked and faved, and for the first ever comment on one of my entries iirc.
tennisers, argarak - for cool music experimentation (argarak for digging up new unique variations of C-minor EDM, and tennisers for also putting up with me on two Advent Calendar draft-collabs)
defmech - for sending me a version of NAPTOWN SHAKEDOWN to be able to cover drums on xD
sean and GuardTHeGReen - for the cool burfday-avatars for my profile and discord from 2021
puke7 - ofc, for hosting this site and all. It would've not existed otherwise :D
(If I can remember both this thread and more people, I'll try to update)

Coda
and Fearofdark
and RushJet1
and Shanabubula's
music among others brought me back to the chiptune and adjacent worlds time and time again.

It was poking around on Rainwarrior's site
that led to BotB. He's a person of many talents, and is always up to some cool+interesting+nerdy project on his YT or twitter.

Zero/Gyridion makes music that tells a well developed story and communicates deep emotion, which I love. He took the time to give me an incredibly helpful crash course in FM and has been a cool person to talk music with.

Webriprob has done art here (and elsewhere
) that I find really inspiring. It was cool during advent to get to know your musical side more too, another person of many talents.

VilXDRYAD was super cool to me behind the scenes when I thought I wouldn't fit in at this place.

Hanna makes cool and inspiring stuff, and also Understands Things about people. You are a huge contributor to the culture that makes this place somewhere where people might want to stick around. (Thanks a ton for the comments above!)

Damifortune is also a huge contributor to the culture, his super friendly presence is awesome, and the talent oozing out of stuff he works on is nuts.

Seeing cabbage drop around keeps me pushing along, simple as that.

There are a lot of other people I could mention.

Lastly -- I find people inspiring that show up and share something regardless of how it will score or how many favorites it will get but simply because they love it. That includes a ton of people on this site not mentioned here.

i know they're not around here anymore, but kfaraday/keffie was absolutely instrumental in getting me involved here by virtue of posting about Winter Chip 9 on famitracker forums.

puke7 - for also just hosting the dang site and being just a really great person, one of my favourite parts about some of the evenings when i got to watch you work on guntner is just shooting the shit really.

damifortune, kleeder, mioh, big lumby, hanna, castlenes, 2a03fox, bgo, etc folks around 2021 or so - yall were here when i rejoined botb in like 2021 and were like. superb to be around it really showed me how much the communitys changed in like just 3 years that i wasnt there and its for so much better now in a lot of aspects

those arent around here anymore, but theyre alive and well and id consider them good friends: moviemovies1, haru, amphobius (under daleksam on this site i think?)

defmech is also always down for a chat and i admire his passion and dedication towards basically anything on this site and extra on lsdj. rock on

im not gonna remember everyone but like, most everyone on this dang site is special in one way or another and is important in a similar manner. i'm really really really happy with how it came along so far, there were hardships and all but like. this site has been around for a long time and i've been on it for almost a decade at this point? ive been around for basically 40% of my life now. insane

rock on yall

i found and listened to their music elsewhere on the internet but i've listened to a lot of fantomenk and fearofdark

i'm pretty sure i originally made an account here for the sole purpose of favoriting sinc-x's bowser's castle after hearing it in yump 2 and deciding it was one of the coolest things i'd ever heard. i still hold it up in my head as the kind of music i wanna be able to write myself

i started actually using the site later after meeting robyn and arcanetoaster in a friend's discord server, where the former posted a smile to go, please and reminded me i had an account

i submitted three whole entries and then disappeared for personal reasons, but something about talking to tree stuck with me and was a part of why i showed back up. and since then folks like opm and kleeder and dami have been nothing but good company, even if i'm still not around much
