this is a seriously cool new tool. feels a lot like Pure Data but with built-in modules more akin to VCV. there's python scripting and VST support too!

The latest release
introduces the songbuilder module, which makes it much easier to sequence an entire song instead of sticking to loops and generative music. This makes it better as a potential battle format. (I still wish they added a tracker module, if only for the aesthetics)

Note: version 1.2.0 has a bug where it doesn't load patches created with older versions. The latest nightly build
resolves it.

When it comes to feature requests, necroposting is preferable to duplicate threads IMO.

Woah, that was fast. Thanks puke!

Should the format allow for free external plugins? On the one hand, that's one of Bespoke's main strengths compared to Rack, SunVox and Pure Data. On the other hand, it might make it hard to play other people's patches, as you'd need to hunt for the missing VSTs yourself.

as far as i know, samples are stored within the .bsk file, at least from the testing i've done. so it should be fine. watch the file size though!

I've just looked at the Signalist class request thread and I wonder whether the reasons for keeping SunVox a Mixist format don't apply to Bespoke as well. I mean, it has a MIDI player in it that can save and load files. You can create eight MIDI players and patch them to samplers/synths to create a rudimentary fakebit environment. Where does the boundary between categories lie?

I would like this more if there was a clear way to do sample and hold

@max chaplin
the difference is the intent of the tool, vcv rack can also play midi, but the main intent and design is around shuttling numbers around boxes, and there are many ways to do so, while sunvox is equally focused around its tracker system and focused around set song structure.
