Currently every single information concerning time and date
of events happening on the site is the exact same one for every botbr, regardless of their geographical location, which is very confusing and inconvenient to convert everytime.

It would be nice if we had dynamically generated ones, either based on the IP, or even better, just a simple setting on the profile page, something that's pretty much a standard on many other sites.

Just a simple setting.

Alternatively, BotB should have its own unique timezone and only use that. Y'all n00bz need to learn to convert it to local tiem!!

How about UTC+80:78 (78 minutes is not equivalent to 01:18 in this case!)

Yeah, the current problem is that BotB is using US Pacific timezone. This timezone uses daylight savings time which almost every country have their own starting time and ending time or don't even use it at all. I usually forget when exactly does US start the DST without resorting to timezone converter because where I am doesn't even use it. It would be nice if BotB defaults the timezone to UTC which is GMT+0 with no DST and let people change the timezone offset to theirs.

i'd be happy with just UTC; every should be able to do UTC-relative timezone math anyway

For the longest time I always assumed that BotB auto-detected timezone lmao.

Either keep it as PST or have the option to be able to switch timezones. Switching from PST to UTC does no good.

sleeparrow: Well also the concept of changing from one arbitrary timezone to another equally arbitrary timezone just seems pointless to me.

PST is only used in one specific area of the world and the maths for conversion will differ for everywhere

UTC is a global standard that everyone knows the reference to making things a hell of a lot simpler

PST is not arbitrary; it's inline with the Center of the Earth timezone which is where BotB's million servers live.

If it was tied to the base, global clock there would be no exploit, it's trivial to resolve this problem. Also it's based on the date, i believe

ViLXDRYAD what are you on about? Is that really a thing? Daily playa points were programmed to react to a page load based on local time to the server.

Just based on that one can deduce that it's not possible to earn more than 1 playa point per day (excluding other bonuses) since it's the server itself that keeps track of it, not the individual user's browser.

Also UTC timestamps would be okay although I sorta got used to botb time ;-; -- Best solution would be to make it a per-user setting of course but I'm personally fine with any of these.

o it was bug-tester me; not a thing that really should happen lmao my bad = c

the only way that could happen is if daily playa points were triggered from the client time side; which would be a unlikely idea lol ;-;

Hey, ViLXDRYAD, thanks for making me doubt how the fucking thing works. Good thing you actually verified that there's a bug there. Oh wait, you didn't; I can't read or understand anything apparently. Next time you create an exploit in your head maybe you could test it first?

Hey everyone! You should probably spend a couple minutes changing the clock and the date on your OS backwards and forwards and refresh BotB when you do because you can give yourself playa points! Try it; it's a real thing. OMG I can't believe. Also, I got a letter from a prince in Africa and if I send them $2500 they might make me their queen.

my bad = c i had 0-days to test it ;-; rip

it was a joke ;w; i was not intending to be taked serious u-u my apologies if i were not clear enough

EDIT: okay, after a small talk with Blaze Weednix on which he told me he misunderstood my comments too i realized that yea, one could not get the point if it were read out of context; when i said:

not really, just pointing a possible exploit out ;-;

i was referring to the future idea of implementing a botb's option to change time zones that was discussed earlier, which could be stored on each account; i said that as a joke taking in count how buggy has been botb in the past not to an actual exploit that could be made; also never spoke about changing the OS's time, never intended to [jk]actually[/jk] bug you by saying that, i hope this makes it clear; and my sincere apologies to all the lost time i could have produced.

love to puke7 ;-;
