'[[Music Macro Language (MML)] is a music description language used in sequencing music on a number of computer and video game system platforms. It's basically a txt file which can be compiled into a native music file from a video game console.

'[[MCK] is the basic program/compiler to convert the MML files into a NES music file. It supports the following chip:

* Nintendo / Famicom (2A03) (*.nsf)

'[[PPMCK] is a third expansion of the famous MCK, a program that will convert your Music Markup Language (MML) text files into NES music instructions. It supports the following chips:

* Nintendo / Famicom (2A03, FDS, VRC6, VRC7, N106, FME7, MMC5) (*.nsf)

'[[XPMCK] is a music (expressed in MML) compiler kit targeted towards various video game systems. It currently supports the following systems:

* Amstrad CPC
* Capcom Play System (VGM output only)
* ColecoVision
* Commodore 64 (*.sid)
* MSX (KSS output only) (*.kss)
* Nintendo Gameboy / Gameboy Color (*.gbs)
* SEGA Master System / SEGA Game Gear / SEGA Genesis (*.vgz)
