Salty Chips 2k17 lel
Thanks Puke for another awesome compo. Some of you are looking at this website in the wrong light. For example, sqwerty, you got 255 plays, 22 favorites, 15 downloads, and a ton of comments saying, "I love this!"
And as a guy who has "won" a bunch of categories before, I'll say that the excitement from the victories is very short lived, while the friendships I've made have given me great returns. And on top of that I get to hear a bunch of rad, original music from all of you badical botbrs.
Think less of this as a competition, and more of a collective, a sister/brotherhood of an elite group of musicians who make music that is special, not just some shit for the radio/club. We are all brought here for our love of chip music, gaming, general nerdome, etc. So as my young bro sinc/shinichi pointed out, focus less on the resluts and instead revel in the excitement of sharing your music with your new digital friends and getting to hear what they've been creating to share with you.
Personally, this site is the most fun website I've ever been a member of, and I used to battle and place in the top 10's over at the late reasonstation.net, and the popular Rocbattle, as well as the obvious/typical soundcloud, soundclick, youtube, myflashstore, etc. etc. And further, I feel like all of you are my digital chip squad (is that the fleeky lingo the kids are using still?) now and I am stoked to be a part of the circle.
Did you make some rad music? Yes. Did tons of people like it and praise you for it? Yes. Is voting unpredictable AF so you shouldn't care about the voting tally? Yes and yes.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a human too (and definitely not a broknerfluamstrakphff from planet zlkqxeng 7), and I can empathize with having a natural reaction of disappointment sometimes, but no need to wallow in it. Especially when there is so much positive reinforcement from your fellow botbrs about how much they enjoyed your music. You realize not everyone tries to be a musician, and so you are already getting to experience something many people in life never will. That is amazing when you think about it. And on top of that, you (most botbrs in fact) make *good* music, another thing many people can't claim.
All ya'll are great, your music is great, and I'm honored to have digitally met ya'll! In the words of the immortal Jack Septiceye, "High fives all around! *WHOOPPSSSSHHH*"
We are legion, we are botb.
