That being said, I'm reeeeeeeeeally hoping to see XG and SC-55. Regular MSGS MIDI gets featured plenty of times, MT-32 shows up now and then, but it's been 3 years since XG was in a seasonal major (Spring Tracks XII), and SC-55 has never been in one... with both, we could have a Yamaha vs. Roland MIDI showdown!

reminder 4 all requesting chiptune formats:

spring tracks traditionally doesnt do chipist stuff, it does mixist, tracker or sequencer stuff instead (hence why renoise and jummbox and musescore and etc, but no wildchip/spc/aym/hes/etc)

id love to see xg/sc55 but i think those also might be a winter/summer chip thing rather than a spring trax thing

Even though it is indeed Chipist, XG has only ever been in Spring Tracks (twice, both before I made this account...) and I do think that's a good place for it.
In recent years, MSGS MIDI has been in Winter and Summer Chip; adding XG and SC-55 on top of that would probably be excessive, and I'd like to see more MIDI opportunities during spring as well!
