You can take a look through the formats featured in previous iterations.

This battle tends to focus on Mixist formats, so Gameboy seems unlikely. But it's possible that the lsdj format specifically could show up, for the same reason that famitracker is in the original batch (thinking of it as a tracker in its own right rather than something that serves a chip).

Anybody wanna do a Renoise collab? My creative juices are kinda dried up and might help to team up.

I'm open to making most styles, though I generally lean towards "chill" and hip-hop-adjacent stuff. Was thinking more a synth-based track like from VA-11 HALL-A as a possibility, too, but down to try mostly whatever.

Find a song you like, copy a 4-bar section of the bassline, write 16 measures of melody over it, then replace the bassline. For an example, listen to Castlevania's "vampire killer" and then Michael Jackson's "thriller" and tell me that you can't see the obvious similarities.

I had started a Jummbox entry but it sounds more like a Fall / Halloween thing... (its fairly eerie due to instrumentation) Definitely would keep the sounds for that for sure. Ironically I could spin the sound to something spring-like if I make it warmer.
