I've been trying to add the Fairchild Channel F's sound chip to Furnace tracker... and I've been doing well implementing it into the code until now... but when I think about make the sound emulation and a custom rom export for a comfy way to make music for the console, I always think on the idea of improve the Sleizsa Trio engine, and that improvement bring me a concept of make a dynamic sound engine, one where instrument, pattern, playback and others abtract routines can being loaded and unloaded to suit with the needs of the song... but it means MANY new things to add, like a full emulations of the channel f system, an assembler, an algorithm to handle all of that, implementation of these features and the GUI and... and furnace just... can't handle it, I thing about make another chiptune tracker over furnace's base, but it means I'll spend a lot of time making all of these things and... maybe test it on others systems- I being so ambitious again! anyways I'll try to first make the furnace Sleizsa implementation just for the rom export, whit that i can be more confortable to build a new sound engine, if the engine works like I expect it will... then I gonna need much coffee to survive for the next TTwTT

However, I'll be posting anything I considering interesting to know about my crazy ideas here, just like a way to remember that there outside is a world, and (try) to break a while for my mind.

(And all of it just start for know about a 70's unpopular game console...)

you might or might not have some interest in Bintracker, then: https://bintracker.org/

While I was investigating the Sleizsa Trio's engine, I came across bintracker, and I found it quite interesting, and although making the tracker work even for 2 seconds was quite difficult, and it is practically unusable for me, it is still quite close to the characteristics of what I wanted to propose, but unfortunately this tracker is in an early stage and all the libraries it uses are not only unknown to me but also making them work on my computer is extremely difficult and tedious, I don't rule out in the future to come back to see how the project goes and decide whether to use Furnace as a base or start working on bintracker. Anyway, I don't want to discard my original idea of making my own, even if it's just for fun, I want to see how far I can go ^w^

in any case, it cld be a good idea to get in contact with utz/irrlicht whos developing bintracker (and also made sleiza duo, trio and quartet) for further input. he is skilled at this system.

if you end up with something, I wld also be happy to test it for you on hardware

Sleizsa quartet... as I didn't come across this before, it's almost exactly what I had planned to achieve, just missing the dynamic part, so I take your proposal kleeder to contact irrlicht, I would like to corroborate what I'm thinking with someone who already has more experience in this, plus I can ask him one or another thing, about the development of a chiptune tracker now that I see he has worked on more than one.

I feel very encouraged with the information I've got so far, and as I don't think so different from the rest ^.^

I'll be doing a lot of digging these days and trying to have visible proofs or advances in what I'm thinking beyond just planning it, and of course, I'd be very happy to share some of my advances here, after all... I can't find any other way to spend my boons :p

thanks for all dami and kleeder! ^w^
