i can see how this is neat if you're trying to port something over quickly! but this is so comically bad i would never ever recommend using it to play back an .it lol... there are so many things it does not (and perhaps cannot) replicate, crucially including New Note Actions

yeah it'll deserve a serious caveat but it's cool conceptually!

@logickeeper_real
if you think the feature is very important information for all furnace and mpt users, just add it to the lyceum urself

cool though that you can decide to not use furnace to do the actual tracking work and then decide later on what you want it to be on import

it's indeed great for interoperability with openmpt, previously you could only do this from .mod format

eh, i mean while it's cool that furnace can interface with s3xmodit formats now, i don't think the feature will be used much.

this might be a bit of a hot take, but i don't think furnace needs more import options, if anything it needs more exportation options. we still have no .nsf, .spc, .c64, or .gbs exporting, plus still no options for conversion. .vgm is great and all but i don't think it's really a good substitution for most chip-specific formats.

"i don't think the feature will be used much. " - what?... i use it all the time!!! xD
btw, somewhere at furnace discord you can find also discussion about people interested on contributing on .mid import as well (so furnace will interoperate directly with daws directly without openmpt in the middle of the process) - btw, i think that nsf and etc were mentioned there as well, so no surprise we will get these imports/exports supported as well soon

(edit) and anyway, what i think furnace really needs is scirpt plugin support, so we could extend it from plugins made by us or anyone, and do things that (still) no other tracker could do, importing and exporting files from/to whatever format included
