I wonder how it's not discussed here yet, anyway, as detailed in this article, European Union is trying to push some really nonsensical regulations as of recent, that - in case they're not stopped - will most likely cripple the usability of internet more than any other laws did before. According to Article 13 of this proposal, all EU-based companies who host user-uploaded/generated content would be obliged to monitor and filter all traffic to detect copyrighted materials and remove it on the spot (imagine this shit affecting YT/twitter/discord/[insert anything] which currrently hold tons of content like this, most of it falling into the area of fair use).
There's also another "briliant" idea, imposing a tax on hyperlinks, apparently, as silly as it sounds like.
There's not much time left to do anything about it, but it's always worth a try, this site has some more info on possible actions we can take
