yea i saw the footnote on the pokey, but figured maybe the dual ay's aren't particularly a 'hack'.

@b00daw stereo ay is standard in some machines such as the pentagon 128/512, so i wouldn't consider it a hack.

Though yeah, dual-AY is in the same league as dual-Pokey unfortunately...'cuz dual-Pokey was also standard in some arcade machines and the like, but we decided to set the cutoff point at one chip for Pokey not only because it's a hack, but also because it's just not fair for multichip tracks to be put in the same playfield as single-chip tracks.
This sort of stuff should probably be explicitly stated in the rules for all chips, I.E. no dual-LSDJ GB tracks, no multi-track Famitracker stuff, all that jazz...

Isn't stereo AY essentially one channel on left, one channel mid, and one channel on right? Single chip? As far as I know, that's fairly standard.

Yea, I shoulda made that connection, my bad ya'll. Has it been considered to make dual chips an entry category since it's a very accessible function for the AY, Pokey and LSDj?
