Minor complaint: the extended ID666 tags are incorrect. You don't put the name of the tag in there literally.

KFF I don't understand much about that, haha, I just edited them with foobar2000. How do I fix that? (Just for curiosity sake, I won't resubmit it.)

Foobar2000? Huh... no wonder why the tags seemed off. Actually, now that I think of it, the program added APE tag information. Not what I expected, and definitely not recommended for the SPC program. Either use another program (SNESAmp is the main one that I think of, although that's a Winamp plugin), or configure foobar2000 not to use APE tagging on those files (I have no clue how to pull that off).

Either that, or a hex editor is required to pull it off.

The guitar can be more strummy if the author desires: a SDx effect is all that needs to be added, except that the volume envelope in SNESMod is not delayed as well. Plus, the previous volume envelope is frozen for that many "ticks" prior to the next note triggering on that row.

Plus, I took advantage of a bug one time that used the fact that Gxx resets a volume envelope per note... and that was my very own Summer Chip 2 entry!

i tried using the SDx effect in different ways but they all ended up sounding somewhat weird to me, thats why i left it this way.

Wonderful song my friend! Hey, I'm from Galveston Island in Texas. I made an island style song for the competition as well. Be sure to check it out, it's called Ocean Melody!

Your tune is so serene, and relaxing. Kind of takes you away to another place!

I detect an intonation issue in that guitar, but it's not a nuisance. KFF, please google Joao Gilberto- "strummy" guitar is not part of the style.

Hi Tails,

I'll be popping in from time to time listening in and giving helpful tips to you and everyone.

You know, I have this song on my iPod, and I think it is very relaxing and nice. I can see a little rural island that's semi tropical, a quite fishing village near a more foresty expanse, people buying and selling in the streets, small boats coming in and out of the docks.

Seems a lot more serene than the island I came from. Mine is a lot more city like and urban (at least half is). Lots of people, cars, buildings, traffic, McDonald's, and so forth.

On my island, every house in the rural side was on stilts, because there would be serious flooding with hurricanes every few years. The second story was always the main living area. I grew up thinking this was normal! How about your home?

Now, somebody had an issue with the guitars not strumming enough or something like that. First, I personally like your song the way it is. However, if you would like a couple of cool guitar VSTi's that allow you to strum at different speeds with MIDI, I think I have just the tools for you.

Here are the websites:

http://www.spicyguitar.com
http://www.musiclab.com/products/realguitar/info.html

Now, on at least one of those, you can change the speed of the strumming as well. Press a chord of 3 on your computer keyboard, and the VSTi will automatically strum a 6 note chord one note at a time. Lift one finger up from one of the keys, and press back down again and again... then you'll get a strumming back and forth effect like in real life.

Really nice sound out of both of these tools. Then you can record clips of those strummings, and plop those samples into any of your future SNES tunes.

As I said, I like it the way it is, but the tools I posted about here will give you very realistic guitar sound with or without strumming.

Happy strumming!

Adios
